The San Marino (Italian : Rio San Marino) is a river in the Italian peninsula. It flows through San Marino (Chiesanuova and Acquaviva), then north into Italy. For some of its length it forms part of the border between the two countries. It flows into the Marecchia at Torello, part of the commune of San Leo (Province of Rimini).
TheSan Marino River isone of the main waterways of the Republic of San Marino, a small country nestled within Italy. The river originates on the slopes of Mount Titano and flows towards Italian territory, emptying into the Marecchia River, which in turn flows into the Adriatic Sea. It is one of the rivers that form the country's hydrographic basin, along with other streams such as the Ausa and the Marano. Despite its name, the river is small in length and volume, which is common in one of the smallest countries in the world. Hiking and cycling trails follow the river's course in some areas.
