Sarah Shannon is a female vocalist best known for her work in the band Velocity Girl. Shannon released two solo albums: Sarah Shannon (2002, Casa Recording Co.) and City Morning Song (2007, Minty Fresh). She also joined Styrofoam to record the song "I Found Love." In addition, she fronted the short-lived band Starry Eyes, which put out a short EP and played one live show at the Black Cat club in Washington D.C. Other members of the band included former members of Velocity Girl and Shades Apart. She is currently a member of The Not-Its!, a children's music rock band. Shannon currently lives in Seattle, Washington.

Blind Melon is an American rock band formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California, by five musicians: three from Mississippi, one from Pennsylvania and one from Indiana. The band currently consists of guitarists Rogers Stevens and Christopher Thorn, drummer Glen Graham, vocalist Travis Warren and bassist Nathan Towne. They are best known for their 1993 hit "No Rain", and enjoyed critical and commercial success in the early 1990s with their neo-psychedelic take on alternative rock.

She was one of the first female singer-songwriters of the Rock and Roll period. Velocity Girl EP is the compilation of singles by Velocity Girl, released in April 1993. "Not at All" and both versions of "I Don't Care if You Go" were sung by Bridget Cross. Sarah Shannon is lead vocal on "Forgotten Favorite" and "Why Should I Be Nice to You?". Archie Moore does lead vocals on "Always." The song "Forgotten Favorite" was added to the soundtrack of the 1995 Alicia Silverstone movie Clueless, as well as the 2000 indie film Calling Bobcat under the title "My Forgotten Favorite."

Popstars: Girls forever is the ninth season of the German TV show Popstars, in which young aspiring female singers/dancers competed in order to claim their spots to make it into the next girl group. The contestants, who also lived together during the course of the series, were groomed and judged by choreographer Detlef D! Soost, and were judged on their vocal and dancing ability by manager Thomas Stein, who had previously been a judge on the first two seasons of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, and "Die Happy"-singer Marta Jandová, who is also about to write songs for the final band. This is the format for the ninth season of the Popstars series, focusing mostly on female dancers/singers, looking for fame in the music industry. This season's catch phrase is "Follow the Star". The season's promotional songs were Gabriella Cilmi's "On a Mission" redeemed by Monrose with "This Is Me", which also serves as the opening theme.
Popstars 2015 was the eleventh and final season of the German reality TV series Popstars, in which aspiring female singers aged 16 or older competed for a place in a new band. The show returned to its original broadcaster RTL II, which aired seasons 1 and 2 of the show. With the previous bands lacking success, the production intended to return to the show's roots and focus more on the singing and the search for different types of singers. The show aired on Mondays at 8:15 pm. Due to very low ratings, it was moved to 9:15 pm. However, ratings continued to drop and the show was kicked off the prime-time and moved to a slot airing Saturdays at 6:00 pm.
