Scott & Muriel is the stage name of the comedy duo Scott Nelson and Muriel Brugman, a husband and wife team of comedy illusionists and entertainers. Their style of performance can best be described as "slapstick magic," a combination of visual comedy, slapstick, modern clowning, and illusions.

All the material and illusions they perform they created, designed and built themselves.

They began working together in 1999. In June, 2000, they won the title "National Champions of Holland" at the Dutch National Congress of Magic.

One month later in July 2000, they won the highest award in magic, the FISM Grand Prix, and with it the title "World Champions of Magic." [1] They are the first and only comedy magic duo to have won this award.

In 2002 they appeared at the famous Juste pour rire (Just for Laughs) festival in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

In 2003 they were the only illusionists to work with Cirque du Soleil in the company's first television series, Solstrom.

In 2004 they created their first full evening show, Scott & Muriel's B!G Show with Joe!, together with Joe Dieffenbacher of the theater group Nakupelle. This show toured for three years in the Netherlands. It was produced by Kees van Liempt of Interpresario and directed by Pieter Athmer. The music was arranged and composed by Kino Haitsma. In 2006 Scott & Muriel took over the production of the show and it has since toured in Austria and Germany.

Scott & Muriel were semi-finalists in the popular TV show Holland’s Got Talent on SBS6 in 2007.

In 2008 they were invited to the 32nd edition of the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo. At the festival they were awarded the Nice-Matin Journalist Prize and the Special Prize from the Fairmont Hotel of Monaco. [2] They were the first illusionists to appear in the festival since Lee Pee Ville in 1978.

At the 2nd World Festival of Clowns in Ekatrineburg, Russia, 2009, Scott & Muriel were awarded the Golden Clown.

In 2010-2011 they starred in the Palazzo dinner-theater show in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

In 2011-2012 they starred in the Big Apple Circus [3] in New York City, United States

In 2012-2013 they appeared in the show 'Seduction' at the Royal Palace cabaret in Kirrwiller, France

In 2014-2015 they appeared in the Weltweihnachtszirkus in Stuttgart, Germany

In 2016 they appeared in season 10 of Britain's Got Talent series. [4]

They are currently busy touring with their 90-minute theater show "Scott & Muriel - The Accidental Illusionists... Fall in Love"

The International Federation of Magic Societies (FISM) was founded in 1948 and is one of the most respected organizations in the magic community. It is an international body coordinating dozens of national and international clubs and federations around the world. Together these clubs represent approximately 50,000 magicians from 50 countries as of 2015. The organization hosts a self-named "FISM" conference every three years, where magicians compete for "Best of" categories. The most recent FISM was in 2018, held in Busan, South Korea. Founded in 1948, it is one of the most recognized magic organizations in the magic circle. Currently, there are more than 80 member organizations and about 50,000 members from 50 countries and regions, including Taiwan's Black Hat Magic Association and the Taiwan Magic Development Association (TMA). Another 808 magic item shop is also in the process of applying for membership. The FISM organizes a worldwide magic convention every three years. The member organizations fight for the right to host. Top magicians from all over the world will compete for the title of "World Magic Champion". Prior to this, various regions will hold regional selections. FISM Europe, FISM Asia, FISM North America, FISM Latin America, FISM Africa, FISM Oceania, and member organizations have the quotas recommended by their regional selection committees.

Barry Lubin American circus performer (born 1952)

Barry Lubin is an American circus performer best known for his Grandma character. His Grandma character was a headline act at the Big Apple Circus in New York City for 25 seasons from 1982 until his 2012 retirement and relocation to Sweden. Lubin's return to the Big Apple Circus in late 2017 was cut short in January 2018 when he admitted to having pressured an underaged, sixteen-year-old circus performer to pose for pornographic pictures in 2004.

Barry Jones and Stuart MacLeod are a duo of Scottish BAFTA-nominated magicians and comedians whose work has been seen on television and on stage around the world. The double act are known for their comically dark performing style, for taking as inspiration the accounts of Biblical miracles and faking paranormal phenomena to form the basis for some of their illusions.

Rob Lake was a quarter-finalist on America's Got Talent in 2018. Rob has performed his illusion shows all over the USA, Japan, Australia, Europe, Guam, and Thailand. Peter Shub is an American actor, clown and vaudeville show director who moved to Europe in the 1980s. He has worked with a number of distinguished international organizations and artists and went on tour with well known circuses such as the German Circus Roncalli, the Big Apple from New York and the Canadian Cirque du Soleil. He has won a Silver Clown of Monte Carlo award and went on tour with his own show as well as with other vaudeville shows throughout Europe. He has been called a "legend", a "modern master", and a "fixture of the German Varieté world."

The Illusionists is a touring magic production which features a rotating cast of 5 to 8 magicians who all specialise in specific branches of magic from stage illusions to mind reading to escapology and comedic magic.
