The Seminole County Sheriff's Office is the law enforcement agency for unincorporated areas of Seminole County, Florida, USA. The current sheriff is Dennis M. Lemma, who took office on January 3, 2017.
The Department of Corrections and Judicial Services is divided into six divisions: Court Services and Transportation, Administrative Services/Intake, Security Operations Services, Inmate Healthcare Services, Probation and Probation Certificates. The Court Services and Transportation Division includes full law enforcement services for the three judicial facilities within Seminole County: the Criminal Justice Center, Juvenile Justice Center and Civil Courthouse as well as prisoner transport. The Division is charged with ensuring these facilities are secure and able to conduct court-related functions for the 18th Judicial Circuit of Florida. The division also houses the Civil Section who carry out the sheriff's statutory responsibility for the service of process and execution of writs.

Each accrediting body has fixed standards that an agency must initially demonstrate compliance with, and then demonstrate continuing adherence to, in order to achieve re-accreditation.
Accreditation standards address key areas such as: organization management and administration, personnel administration, law enforcement operations, training, forensic examination, and inmate and court-related services. Accreditation typically includes an extensive review of an agency's policies, procedures and protocols as well as an on-site inspection and interviews with key personnel.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) is a joint city-county law enforcement agency, which has primary responsibility for law enforcement, investigation, and corrections within the consolidated City of Jacksonville and Duval County, Florida, United States. Duval County includes the incorporated cities of Jacksonville, Atlantic Beach, Baldwin, Jacksonville Beach, and Neptune Beach; the beach cities have their own police departments as well.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department (OCSD) is the law enforcement agency serving Orange County, California. It currently serves the unincorporated areas of Orange County and thirteen contract cities in the county: Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Stanton, Villa Park, and Yorba Linda.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) is the primary law enforcement agency for Hillsborough County, Florida and is responsible for law enforcement services for the 888 square miles (2,300 km2) of unincorporated areas of the county as well as operation of the two jail facilities, a work release center, and provides courthouse security for the 13th Judicial Circuit. Each of the three incorporated cities has its own police agency. Tampa International Airport, and the University of South Florida also have independent police agencies.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office is the largest law enforcement agency in Lake County, Florida, United States. Per the State of Florida Constitution, the sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer of both the incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county. The current Sheriff is Peyton C. Grinnell who was elected November, 2016 in the Lake County general election. He succeeds Sheriff Gary Borders, who was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush following the death of Sheriff Chris Daniels in 2006, and was subsequently elected in 2008, and 2012. The agency has been awarded with a certificate of accreditation from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, consequently, both the Law Enforcement and Corrections divisions of the Lake County Sheriff's Office are now accredited.
The Prince William County, Virginia Sheriff's Office was established in 1731 to provide law enforcement and jailers for the County. In 1970, the Board of County Supervisors established the Prince William County Police Department which assumed the primary responsibility for law enforcement. In 1982, the Prince William County Adult Detention Center opened and assumed the duties of jailers. The Sheriff is a constitutional office elected by the Prince William County, City of Manassas and City of Manassas Park to provide certain public safety services.

HCSO serves one million residents and is located downtown in the city of Minneapolis, the county seat. The office manages the county jail, patrols waterways, provides security for the District Court, handles home foreclosures, participates in homeland security activities and in law enforcement, and by state law is responsible for handling applications for permits to carry a firearm for residents of Hennepin County.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) is the primary law enforcement agency for Pinellas County, Florida, United States and is responsible for law enforcement services in the unincorporated areas of the county as well as contract cities, jail facilities and courthouse security for Florida's 6th Judicial Circuit.
The Allegany County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) is the primary law enforcement agency for Allegany County, Maryland. The ACSO is a nationally accredited law enforcement agency servicing 430 square miles (1,100 km2) and a population of 75,300.
The Orleans County Sheriff's Office serves a population of over 42,000 people and covers an area of 396 square miles (1,030 km2) on the southern shore of Lake Ontario in Western New York. The Sheriff's Office provides full service law enforcement to the unincorporated areas of the county. The office also provides varying degrees of support to four municipal police departments and operates the Orleans County Jail.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office (CPSO) is the chief law enforcement agency in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. Its administrative offices are located in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The department has ten law enforcement centers. The current Sheriff is Tony Mancuso. They have over 900 employees. Patrol shifts are divided into East side units and West side units. The sheriff's office has crime scene personnel who assist patrol on calls to collect evidence as well as photos and forensic evidence. CPSO also has approximately 11 K9's with most trained as Apprehension and narcotics detection. There are K9's on every shift to assist with narcotics searches as well as searching for suspects and apprehension of suspects.

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) is the primary law enforcement agency serving a population of 222,938 residents within the 662.88 square miles (1,717 km2) area of Frederick County, Maryland.
The Caroline County Sheriff's Office (CCSD) is the primary law enforcement agency servicing 32,617 people within 320.14 square miles (829.2 km2) of Caroline County, Maryland.
The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office (RCSO) is the primary law enforcement agency servicing 76,314 people within 853 square miles (2,210 km2) of jurisdiction within Rockingham County, VA.
The Sullivan County Sheriffs Office, sometimes referred to as "SCSO", is the primary law enforcement organization serving Sullivan County, Tennessee, in the United States. The Department has a staff of 260 deputies, corrections officers, and support personnel. The department also staffs a 24-7 9-1-1 dispatch center that provides dispatching for the sheriff's office, Bluff City Police Department, Sullivan County Fire Departments, and Sullivan County EMS. The dispatch center receives approximately 100,000 calls each year.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office is the principal law enforcement agency that serves Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. It provides law enforcement services for the county's road system, freeways in the county, the Milwaukee County Courthouse, the Milwaukee County Jail in downtown Milwaukee and House of Corrections in rural Franklin, the county-owned General Mitchell International Airport, and the Milwaukee County Parks system, including much of the Milwaukee lakefront. At one time it was the largest sheriff's department in the state of Wisconsin, with about 720 deputy sheriffs. By 2015 the agency had reduced the number of sworn personnel to approximately 225.
