The Seton Hall Pirates Women's Volleyball program is the NCAA Division I intercollegiate volleyball program of Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. The team competes in the Big East Conference and plays their home games in Walsh Gymnasium on the Seton Hall campus.
The Seton Hall Women's Volleyball Team finished 2nd in regular season conference play behind Creighton University. [2]
At the Big East Championship tournament, Seton Hall beat Marquette University (3-2) [3] in the first round and went on to play Creighton for the title, where the team fell short of winning the Big East Championship (3-1). [4]
The team went on to earn their first ever NCAA tournament berth in program history. [5] Seton Hall faced off against 12th ranked Brigham Young University in the first round of the NCAA tournament, falling to the Cougars (3-0) in Tucson, Arizona. [6]

The East Carolina Pirates are the athletic teams that represent East Carolina University (ECU), located in Greenville, North Carolina. All varsity-level sports teams participate at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level as a member of the American Athletic Conference. The school became an NCAA member in 1961.

Phyllis Ann Mangina is an American college basketball coach who was most recently an assistant women's basketball coach at Saint Peter's. Previously, she was head coach at Seton Hall from 1985 to 2010. Mangina was first a star basketball and softball player at Seton Hall, and later returned to her alma mater as an assistant, before assuming a leading role as head coach in 1985.

Rob Sheppard is an American college baseball coach who has been the head coach at Seton Hall since the start of the 2004 season. Sheppard was also the Pirates' interim head coach in 2001. He succeeded his father, Mike, who had been Seton Hall's head coach since 1973. Under Sheppard, the Pirates have appeared in two NCAA tournaments.
Mike "Shep" Sheppard Sr. was an American college baseball coach, mainly as the head coach at Seton Hall from 1973 to 2000 and 2002 to 2003. In 30 seasons as head coach, he led Seton Hall to 10 NCAA tournaments and two College World Series. He had an overall record of 998-540-11.

They defeated Creighton, Xavier, and the eventual national champion Villanova to become champions of the Big East tournament. They received the Big East Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the first round to Gonzaga.

They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as a No. 9 seed in the South region where they lost to Arkansas in the first round.

The 2021 Big East Conference men's soccer tournament was the post-season women's soccer tournament for the Big East Conference held from November 6 to 14, 2021, in the USA. The five-match tournament took place at Shaw Field in Washington, D.C. for the semifinals and finals, while the first round was hosted by the higher seeded team. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Seton Hall Pirates. They were unable to defendtheir title after not qualifying for the tournament and finishing in last place in the regular season standings. Georgetown finished as tournament champions after defeating Providence 2–1 in overtime in the final. This is the fifth title in program history for Georgetown, all of which have come under Head Coach Brian Wiese. As tournament champions, Georgetown earned the Big East's automatic place in the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.
