Czech Television is a public television broadcaster in the Czech Republic, broadcasting seven channels. Established after the Velvet Revolution in 1992, it is the successor to Czechoslovak Television founded in 1953.
The Czech Republic, presented as Czechia since 2023, has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 11 times since making its debut in 2007. After receiving nul points in the semi-final of the 2009 contest and due to a lack of interest from the Czech public, Czech broadcaster Česká televize (ČT) decided not to participate in future contests. ČT announced its return to the contest in 2015, with an internal selection being used to select its fourth Eurovision entry.
Prima televize is a Czech private television station. Its channel is broadcast from Prague. Its current owner is FTV Prima, spol. s. r. o., which is majority-owned by Czech investment firm GES, in turn owned by Czech oligarch Ivan Zach. The group's current general manager is Marek Singer. It is the first private TV channel in the Czech Republic and the former Czechoslovakia.
Television was introduced in Czechoslovakia in 1953. Experimental projects with DVB-T started in 2000. Finally on 21 October 2005, multiplex A (DVB-T) was launched with three channels of Česká televize and one of TV Nova and radio channels of Český rozhlas.
The Czech TV crisis occurred at the end of 2000 and lasted until February 2001 as a battle for control of the airwaves, which included jamming and accusations of censorship. On 24 December 2000, news programs on Česká televize (ČT) were interrupted by Jana Bobošíková, a veteran presenter at the channel and the newly appointed head of the news department, sitting next to Jiří Hodač, a former BBC employee who had been appointed general manager of ČT on 20 December.
David Svoboda is a Czech athlete who competes in the modern pentathlon. At the 2012 London Olympics, Svoboda won the gold medal in the Olympic pentathlon. At the 2008 Olympics, Svoboda was 28th in the pentathlon.
Tajemství rodu is the Czech version of the British genealogy documentary series Who Do You Think You Are? Starting on 9 January 2013, the Czech broadcaster Česká televize, aired 13 episodes on the ČT1.
Případy 1. oddělení is a Czech crime television series. The series is based on real criminal cases investigated by Czech Police. People involved in screenwrighting of the series include Jan Malinda and Josef Mareš. The series was selected the best Czech crime television series in last decade. Main characters are based on real life investigators and other people. The cases reflect some of the most famous real criminal cases of the modern Czech Republic. Series was renewed for third season to be aired in 2022. Season 3 concluded on 28 November 2022.
Svět pod hlavou is a Czech mystery television series. The series is heavily inspired by the BBC television series Life on Mars.

ČT3 was a Czech public television channel, operated by Czech Television. ČT3 broadcast originally in 1993 when it replaced the previous station OK3. Unlike the other two channels of the Czech Television at the time, ČT1 and ČT2, ČT3 broadcast its program largely in foreign languages and 24 hours a day.
The Land Gone Wild is a Czech adventure historical television series. It was produced by Czech Television and filmed in four seasons in 1997, 2001, 2007 and 2012. Story is based on Jiří Stránský's novels Zdivočelá země and Aukce.
Četníci z Luhačovic is a Czech crime television series. Its creative producer was Jan Maxa, the author of the project and main scriptwriter Petr Bok, Tomáš Feřtek also participated in the scripts. Directed by Biser A. Arichtev, Peter Bebjak and Dan Wlodarczyk. The plot of the series takes place in 1919. The central pair of young First Republic policemen were portrayed by Robert Hájek and Martin Donutil. The premiere of the first part took place on 6 January 2017.
Docent is a Czech crime television series. Doc. Otto Stehlík tracks down a cold-blooded serial killer as an investigator with unconventional but all the more functional strategy. Stehlík and his professional partner Monika Fousová represent a rather incongruous couple. Jan Malinda and Josef Mareš have written the script. Jiří Strach took over the direction. The first episode premiered on 5 February 2023 on ČT1. and was presented on 12 January in Prague's bio přítomnost. Director Strach revealed there that season 2 is in development and could start filming in the fall of the same year.
The First Republic is a Czech historical television series. It was co-produced by Dramedy Productions and Česká Television, it maps the lives of the business Valenta family in the period from the establishment of the First Republic to the beginning of the 1930s. It was originally planned that the plot would last until 1945 but the series was cancelled after 3 seasons. The series was developed and offered for television by the production company Dramedy Productions. It was directed by Biser A. Arichtev, who previously worked with Dramedy on the series Vyprávěj, which was also conceived and produced for ČT by the Dramedy team.
Stíny v mlze is a 2022 crime drama television series by Czech Television. The premiere on ČT1 screens took place on 3 January 2022. The series was directed by Radim Špaček and the script was written by Zdeněk Zapletal. It consists of 12 episodes, each presenting a different case from Ostrava and its surroundings. The main roles of the investigators were played by Petra Špalková, Jiří Vyorálek and Petr Panzenberger. The daughter of Petra Špalková's character was played by Anděla Tichá, the real daughter of the actress. On 22 March 2023 Czech Television announced the series was renewed for season 2.
Zločiny Velké Prahy is a Czech crime television series. The series takes place in 1922, in the period when central Prague merged with thirty-eight cities to create Great Prague. However, according to the creators, the individual stories are meant to sound simultaneously. The series has ten parts and is directed by Jaroslav Brabec. Writer and historian Michal Dlouhý who also orked on the script of Četnické humoresky, collaborated on the series.

Profesionálové (Professionals) is a Czech television sitcom that was broadcast in 2009-2010 by TV Barrandov. It is a remake of the Slovak series of the same name. The Czech version, TV Barrandov's first own series, which began its broadcast in January 2009, was cancelled in March 2009 after only eleven episodes, although the television planned to shoot at least 26 episodes. In 2010, the project was revived and a second series of 16 episodes with a partially different cast was made.
