Sever (North) is a Czech crime thriller television series broadcast on Czech Television in 2019. The plot is set in the region of northern Bohemia around 2010 and is based on real events; [1] the main character, a young official and later a promising criminal, struggles with political corruption and the "impunity" of some people in his previous and new jobs. He stumbles and becomes an outlaw because – true to his ideals – he does not want to play the game of his police pack.

Contents

The psychologically conceived series abounds with several storylines and surprising twists. [2] It was presented on August 22, 2019, and premiered on September 2 on the public channel ČT1. Together with the ten-episode Pleasure Principle, it was the main crime series of the autumn broadcast of Czech Television.

Shooting

The creators filmed all six episodes from March to the beginning of May 2019 in Ústí, right at the scene. [3]

The Czech TV crisis occurred at the end of 2000 and lasted until February 2001 as a battle for control of the airwaves, which included jamming and accusations of censorship. Docent is a Czech crime television series. Doc. Otto Stehlík tracks down a cold-blooded serial killer as an investigator with unconventional but all the more functional strategy. Stehlík and his professional partner Monika Fousová represent a rather incongruous couple. Jan Malinda and Josef Mareš have written the script. Jiří Strach took over the direction. The first episode premiered on 5 February 2023 on ČT1. and was presented on 12 January in Prague's bio přítomnost. Director Strach revealed there that season 2 is in development and could start filming in the fall of the same year.

The First Republic is a Czech historical television series. It was co-produced by Dramedy Productions and Česká Television, it maps the lives of the business Valenta family in the period from the establishment of the First Republic to the beginning of the 1930s. It was originally planned that the plot would last until 1945 but the series was cancelled after 3 seasons. The series was developed and offered for television by the production company Dramedy Productions. It was directed by Biser A. Arichtev, who previously worked with Dramedy on the series Vyprávěj, which was also conceived and produced for ČT by the Dramedy team.

<i>Stíny v mlze</i> Czech TV series or program

Stíny v mlze is a 2022 crime drama television series by Czech Television. The premiere on ČT1 screens took place on 3 January 2022. The series was directed by Radim Špaček and the script was written by Zdeněk Zapletal. It consists of 12 episodes, each presenting a different case from Ostrava and its surroundings. The main roles of the investigators were played by Petra Špalková, Jiří Vyorálek and Petr Panzenberger. The daughter of Petra Špalková's character was played by Anděla Tichá, the real daughter of the actress. On 22 March 2023 Czech Television announced the series was renewed for season 2.

<i>Zločiny Velké Prahy</i> Czech TV series or program

Zločiny Velké Prahy is a Czech crime television series. The series takes place in 1922, in the period when central Prague merged with thirty-eight cities to create Great Prague. However, according to the creators, the individual stories are meant to sound simultaneously. The series has ten parts and is directed by Jaroslav Brabec. Writer and historian Michal Dlouhý who also orked on the script of Četnické humoresky, collaborated on the series.

Profesionálové (Professionals) is a Czech television sitcom that was broadcast in 2009-2010 by TV Barrandov. It is a remake of the Slovak series of the same name. The Czech version, TV Barrandov's first own series, which began its broadcast in January 2009, was cancelled in March 2009 after only eleven episodes, although the television planned to shoot at least 26 episodes. In 2010, the project was revived and a second series of 16 episodes with a partially different cast was made.
