Sherin Shringar, known by her stage name Sherin or Shirin is a model turned actress, who appears in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films. She made her debut at the age of 16 with Darshan in 2002. [1] [2] [3]
Tamil cinema refers to Tamil-language motion pictures, which are primarily made in India. Based in the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the hub of the Tamil film industry is in the Kodambakkam neighbourhood of Chennai. Kollywood is a colloquial term for this industry, the word being a portmanteau of Kodambakkam and Hollywood.
Telugu cinema, also known by its sobriquet Tollywood, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Telugu language, based in Film Nagar, a neighborhood of Hyderabad, India. Since 1909, film maker Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu was involved in producing short films and travelling to different regions in Asia to promote film work. In 1921, he produced the first Telugu silent film, Bhishma Pratigna. He is cited as the father of Telugu cinema.
Sherin hails from the state of Karnataka. She was born in Bengaluru as an only child to her parents. She did her schooling from Kaveri School in Bengaluru and studied at Baldwin's Women's Methodist College, which she later discontinued. She started modeling in her teens and got the chance to act in her first film when she was only 16 years old. After that, she had offers to act in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam movies. She shot to fame with her debut Tamil film Thulluvadho Ilamai . She also acted in Juniors, a Telugu remake of Thulluvadho Ilamai, but the film failed commercially. Later, in 2005, she acted in the film Danger directed by Krishna Vamsi; though the film received accolades, Incidentally, in both the films she starred with Allari Naresh. She then starred in Student No. 1 where she played opposite debutant Sibi Raj. She was critically acclaimed for her performance in the film Whistle. She recently[ when? ] appeared in the hit Malayalam film Moonnamathoral, co-starring Jayaram, Jyothirmai and Vineeth. Sherin is starring with Nanda for the film Urchagam . Sherin also starred in Poova Thalaiya, which released on 29 April 2011. [4] She made a brief comeback in 2015 with the film Nannbenda, where she was paired opposite Santhanam in a supporting role. [5] In 2019, she made a full fledged comeback by participating as one of the original contestants on Star Vijay's Bigg Boss Tamil 3 [6] .

Thulluvadho Ilamai is a 2002 Indian Tamil-language coming of age film co-written and directed by Kasthuri Raja. It is co-written by Raja's elder son Selvaraghavan and introduced Raja's second son Dhanush as an actor, who plays the lead role. Alongside Dhanush, the film also introduced other newcomers Abhinay, Sherin, Ramesh, Shilpa and Gangeshwari and features prominent film personalities Vijayakumar, Ramesh Khanna, 'Pyramid' Nadarajan as well. While the soundtrack was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, Viji Manuel composed the film score. The film was released on 10 May 2002 and proved to be highly successful at the box office.
Danger is a 2005 Telugu-language thriller film written and directed by Krishna Vamsi, produced by Sunkara Madhu Murali under Karthikeya Creations banner and starring Allari Naresh, Sairam Shankar, Abhishek, Swathi, and Shireen in lead roles. The film soundtrack and background score were composed by Joshua Sridhar. Dialogues for the film were written by popular actor Uttej. The film was released on 29 October 2005.
