Shigeru Kitayama(北山 茂,Kitayama Shigeru) is a Japanese anime producer. Some of his major works include Yasuhiro Nightow's Trigun television series [1] as well as Nightow's other series Gungrave . He has worked on Shinichi Watanabe's adaptation of Excel Saga and the Geobreeders OVA series. He worked with Koichi Mashimo of Bee Train on producing what would later be known as the "girls with guns" series starting with Noir in 2001, then Madlax in 2004, and finally El Cazador de la Bruja in 2007. In 2010 he attended Anime Expo to watch the premiere of Trigun: Badlands Rumble. [2]

Trigun is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yasuhiro Nightow. The manga was serialized in Tokuma Shoten's Shōnen Captain in 1995 with three collected volumes when the magazine was discontinued in 1997. The series continued in Shōnen Gahosha's Young King Ours magazine, under the title Trigun Maximum, where it remained until finishing in 2008.

Ninja Scroll is a 1993 Japanese animated jidaigeki-chanbara film written and directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, starring the voices of Kōichi Yamadera, Emi Shinohara, Takeshi Aono, Daisuke Gōri, Toshihiko Seki and Shūichirō Moriyama. The film was a co-production between JVC, Toho, Movic and Animate, with Madhouse serving as the animation studio. Ninja Scroll was theatrically released in Japan on June 5, 1993, and received an English-dubbed release in Western countries through Manga Entertainment in 1995.

<i>801 T.T.S. Airbats</i> manga

801 T.T.S. Airbats, known in Japan as Aozora Shōjotai, is a manga by Shimizu Toshimitsu which was later adapted into a seven episode anime series, produced by Studio Fantasia and Victor Entertainment. The series was released in Japan on LaserDisc as a series of OVA episodes between 1994 and 1996, and was licensed for English language distribution by ADV Films. The title has been out of print since 2005. The series had aired on TVB in Hong Kong on April 9, 1996.

Original video animation, abbreviated as OVA and sometimes as OAV, are Japanese animated films and miniseries made specially for release in home video formats without prior showings on television or in theatres, though the first part of an OVA series may be broadcast for promotional purposes. OVA titles were originally made available on VHS, later becoming more popular on LaserDisc and eventually DVD. Starting in 2008, the term OAD began to refer to DVD releases published bundled with their source-material manga.

Puni Puni Poemy is a two-part original video animation spin-off from the Excel Saga manga and TV animation. It features some of that series' secondary characters and many of its staff, primarily director Shinichi Watanabe. Like Excel Saga, it is a parody of other anime, manga and various aspects of popular culture, though in this case with the magical girl genre providing its primary focus and general structure. The series was originally an in-joke from an episode of Excel Saga; Watanabe decided to take the in-joke to its most extreme logical conclusion, creating the series.
