Kimberly Susan Rhode is an American double trap and skeet shooter. A California native, she is a six-time Olympic medal winner, including three gold medals, and six-time national champion in double trap. She is the most successful female shooter at the Olympics as the only triple Olympic Champion and the only woman to have won two Olympic gold medals for Double Trap. She won a gold medal in skeet shooting at the 2012 Summer Olympics, equaling the world record of 99 out of 100 clays. Most recently, she won the bronze medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics, making her the first Olympian to win a medal on five different continents, the first Summer Olympian to win an individual medal at six consecutive summer games, and the first woman to medal in six consecutive Olympics.
The shooting competitions at the 1996 Summer Olympics took place at the Wolf Creek Shooting Complex near Atlanta, United States. Competitions were held in men's events and women's events. For men's and women's double trap, it was the first Olympic competition, a women's shotgun event also had been added.
For the 2005 ISSF World Cup in the fifteen Olympic shooting events, the World Cup Final was held in August 2005 in Munich, Germany for the rifle and pistol events, and in November 2005 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for the shotgun events.
Skeet was one of the thirteen shooting events at the 1992 Summer Olympics. It was the last Olympic skeet competition open to both men and women, and the only mixed shooting competition at the Olympics ever won by a woman: Zhang Shan. The competition consisted of a qualification round of 150 targets, a semifinal of 50 targets for the top 24 competitors, and a final of 25 targets for the top six. Hitting all 200 targets of the preliminary rounds, and 23 in the final, Zhang won ahead of four male shooters at 222. With José María Colorado eliminated due to lower final score, a three-way shoot-off between Juan Giha, Bruno Rossetti and Ioan Toman determined the silver and bronze medals, going to Giha and Rossetti respectively. The event was held on 28 July at the Mollet del Vallès Shooting Range.
Shooting sports have been contested at the Commonwealth Games at every games since 1966 with the exception of the 1970 Commonwealth Games. Events were open until they were segregated by gender in 1994 for pistol and most rifle events and in 2002 for trap and skeet events; the full bore rifle competitions remained open.
Qatar competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which was held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The country's participation at London marked its eighth appearance in the Summer Olympics since its début at the 1984 Summer Olympics. The delegation sent by the Qatar Olympic Committee consisted of twelve athletes in athletics, shooting, swimming and table tennis. The 2012 Games marked the first time Qatar sent female athletes to the Olympic Games; following the 2008 Summer Olympics, it had been one of only three countries, along with Saudi Arabia and Brunei, to never have done so.
The women's skeet shooting event at the 2011 Pan American Games was on October 18 at the Jalisco Hunting Club in Guadalajara. The defending Pan American Games champion is Haley Dunn of the United States.
Shooting competitions at the 2015 European Games in Baku were held from 13–19 June 2015 at the Baku Shooting centre.
The women's skeet competition at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea was held on 7 October at the Changwon International Shooting Range.
The women's skeet competition at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar was held on 7 December at the Lusail Shooting Range.
Finland participated at the 2015 European Games, in Baku, Azerbaijan from 12 to 28 June 2015.
Pakistan participated at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. The Pakistan Olympic Association announced that its delegation for the games would consist of 62 athletes in 11 sports, but only 48 competed. Pakistan participated in badminton, boxing, gymnastics, judo, lawn bowling, shooting, swimming, table tennis, weightlifting and wrestling.
The Men's skeet event at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place on 25 and 26 July 2021 at the Asaka Shooting Range. After a disappointing showing in Rio, 2008 and 2012 champion Vincent Hancock of the United States rebounded to reclaim the gold medal, thus setting an Olympic record by becoming the first to win three gold medals in this event. Jesper Hansen, after getting to the finals through three shoot-off rounds, won silver, the first Olympic medal in his career. The bronze was awarded to Abdullah Al-Rashidi, who was also the 2016 bronze medalist in skeet. The defending champion Gabriele Rossetti entered the competition but did not qualify for the finals.

Numerous world records and Olympic records were set in various events at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Some events occur over non-standard conditions in which case there are no official records, just "world best" and "olympic best" results.
The women's skeet event at the 2019 European Games in Minsk, Belarus took place from 26 to 27 June at the Sporting Club.
Kriszta Tunde Incze is a Romanian freestyle wrestler. She is a two-time medalist at the European Wrestling Championships. In 2019, she represented Romania at the European Games in Minsk, Belarus and won one of the bronze medals in the 62 kg event. She also represented Romania at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
