Asian Games Multi-sport event

The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The Games were regulated by the Asian Games Federation (AGF) from the first Games in New Delhi, India, until the 1978 Games. Since the 1982 Games, they have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), after the breakup of the Asian Games Federation. The Games are recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and are described as the second largest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games.

2007 Pacific typhoon season

The 2007 Pacific typhoon season was a below average season which featured 24 named storms, fourteen typhoons, and five super typhoons. It was an event in the annual cycle of tropical cyclone formation, in which tropical cyclones form in the western Pacific Ocean. The season ran throughout 2007, though most tropical cyclones typically develop between May and November. The season's first named storm, Kong-rey, developed on March 30, while the season's last named storm, Mitag, dissipated on November 27. The season's first typhoon, Yutu, reached typhoon status on May 18, and became the first super typhoon of the year on the next day.

East Asia Summit ASEAN meeting

The East Asia Summit (EAS) is a regional forum held annually by leaders of, initially, 16 countries in the East Asian, Southeast Asian, South Asian and Oceanian regions, based on the ASEAN Plus Six mechanism. Membership expanded to 18 countries including Russia and the United States at the Sixth EAS in 2011. Since its establishment, ASEAN has held the central role and leadership in the forum. EAS meetings are held after the annual ASEAN leaders' meetings, and plays an important role in the regional architecture of Asia-Pacific. 2006 Chinese Grand Prix Motor car race

The 2006 Chinese Grand Prix was the sixteenth race of the 2006 Formula One season. It was held on 1 October 2006 at Shanghai International Circuit, Shanghai. The race was won by Michael Schumacher, driving a Ferrari, and would turn out to be the 91st and last victory of his Formula One career. It was also his last podium finish until the 2012 European Grand Prix, during his comeback to the sport.

Xu Yanwei is an Olympic medal-winning swimmer from the People's Republic of China, who became part of the Chinese national swimming team in 2000. She competed at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Chongqing Broadcasting Group

Chongqing Broadcasting Group (CBG; is a government-owned television network based in the city of Chongqing in southwestern China. Established in 1981, Chongqing Television has been the leading broadcasting network in Chongqing and its affiliated counties and districts. After Chongqing became a direct-controlled municipality in 1997, Chongqing Television became the official TV program to represent and propagate the cultures and development of Chongqing. Chongqing Television became a subdivision of Chongqing Broadcasting Group in 2004 with a headquarter in Jiulongpo District. José Lai

José Lai Hung-seng is the Roman Catholic Bishop Emeritus of Macau, the first born in the diocese and the second Chinese bishop, the first being Domingos Lam. Lai was appointed on 23 January 2001 Coadjutor and succeeded on 30 June 2003. He was succeeded by Bishop Stephen Lee Bun-sang on 23 January 2016.

Figure skating has been contested at the Asian Winter Games since 1986. It was not included in 1990 because of conflicting with 1990 World Figure Skating Championships.

Typhoon Sepat

Typhoon Sepat, known in the Philippines as Typhoon Egay, was the eighth named tropical storm, and the strongest tropical cyclone of the 2007 Pacific typhoon season to date, that affected the Philippines and made landfall in Taiwan and Fujian. The storm was formed on August 11 via a low-circulation center SE of Naha, Okinawa, and was named by JMA as Sepat on August 12, also known as Egay in the Philippines as it entered the PAR later. Sepat underwent an explosive intensification on the night of August 13, reaching peak intensity at Category 5-equivalent super typhoon intensity the following morning. The storm maintained its strength for 2 days, until it underwent an eyewall replacement cycle, just before he storm makes landfall in Taiwan on August 17 as a Category 3-equivalent typhoon. After crossing the Taiwanese strait, Sepat; already weakening into Category 1 status due to unfavorable conditions, made a second landfall in China on August 18, 2007. The storm persisted across Mainland China, as it transitioned into an extratropical cyclone on August 20, and Sepat, now an extratropical low continued through the Chinese mainland until it finally dissipated near Yunnan Province on August 24.

The Asian Chess Championship is a chess tournament open to all players from Asian chess federations. It's held with the Swiss system and consists in two divisions, Open and Women's, the latter of which is reserved to female players. Both sections determine the Asian champions and qualify a certain number of players for the FIDE World Cup and knockout Women's World Chess Championship respectively.
