Siegfried is a heavy metal band from Austria that was founded in 1998 by Bruder Cle, aka Hagen, who was later joined by Daniel Bachmaier (ex Sarcasm Syndrome), a.k.a. Ortwin, and former Dreams of Sanity singer Sandra Schleret. In 2000 they released a demo CD called Fafnir. Later in 2000 they were signed to Napalm Records, releasing their first album, Drachenherz, in 2001. Their second album, Eisenwinter, was released in 2003. The lyrics of Siegfried are based on and inspired by the Nibelung Saga. [1]

Heavy metal is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock, and acid rock, the bands that created heavy metal developed a thick, massive sound, characterized by highly amplified distortion, extended guitar solos, emphatic beats, and overall loudness. The genre's lyrics and performance styles are sometimes associated with aggression and machismo.

Dreams of Sanity was a gothic metal band from Austria. Founded in 1991, they released three full-length albums, before disbanding in 2002.

According to Sandra Schleret as of April 25, 2008, "Siegfried is still together and working on a new album (pre-production is finished except the vocals for two songs.)" [2]

In May 2009 Siegfried recorded their third album, Nibelung, in Alex Krull's well-known Mastersound studios. Nibelung was released in November 2009.

Napalm Records record label

Napalm Records is an Austrian independent record label focused on heavy metal and hard rock. Originally, Napalm focused mainly on black metal bands such as Abigor and Summoning and folk metal bands such as Falkenbach and Vintersorg. Later on, the label expanded its roster by adding gothic metal, symphonic metal, power metal, doom metal, metalcore and nu metal bands, as well as stoner rock acts Monster Magnet, Karma to Burn, and Brant Bjork. Napalm has its own publishing house named Iron Avantgarde Publishing.

Battlelore Finnish heavy metal band

Battlelore are a Finnish heavy metal band from Lappeenranta, founded in 1999 by guitarist Jyri Vahvanen and bassist Miika Kokkola. The name derives from the union of the words 'battle' and 'folklore'. Many of Battlelore's lyrics concern J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth sagas and their stage costumes and live shows are largely inspired by the themes and characters of fantasy literature. The band had many changes of personnel during their twelve years of activity and had a long hiatus after the completion of the tour supporting their latest release Doombound in 2011. In January 2016 they announced that they would be performing at Metal Female Voices Fest XIII in October 2016.

Equilibrium is a German folk metal band. The band's music combines elements of folk music, black metal and symphonic metal with various other influences. All of their song lyrics are in German, except for the songs "The Unknown Episode", "Born to Be Epic", "Rise Again" and "Prey".

Elis was a gothic metal band from Liechtenstein, formed by Sabine Dünser and Pete Streit in 2003 after the split of Erben der Schöpfung in 2002. The band temporarily split up in February 2012 after lead singer Simone Christinat's departure. However, a month later, the band began doing a search for Christinat's replacement and the search was successful. Elis has since "disbanded" in order to form a new group called Zirkonium, with Swiss singer Kathrin Schlumpf as their lead vocalist.

Visceral Evisceration was an Austrian metal band that blended death metal and doom metal, who were formed in 1991 in Vienna. They were one of the first extreme metal bands to include female operatic vocals, contrasted by male grunts and clear vocals. Their songs are generally long and epic, combining slow doom riffs with mid-paced death metal. Lyrically, they focused on issues more prevalent in goregrind, seemingly inspired by bands as Carcass and country-mates Pungent Stench. After a demo, they released their sole album, Incessant Desire for Palatable Flesh, on Napalm Records. After the release of the album, they left Napalm and changed their name to As I Lay Dying, releasing a promo in 1995 before breaking up.

Myriads is a gothic metal band from Norway. Myriads was formed in September 1997, in Stavanger on the west coast of Norway.

Enthroned is a black metal band formed in Charleroi, Belgium. It is one of the premier acts of the Belgian Black metal scene.

Eyes of Eden is a German symphonic metal band founded in 2005 by multi-instrumentalist and record producer Waldemar Sorychta. Sorychta initially chose Sandra Schleret as the singer, but she became ill and could not finish the recordings for the first studio album. She was replaced by the then-unknown 20-year-old Franziska Huth. The drum parts on the album were initially recorded by Gas Lipstick, but he was later replaced by Tom Diener. Alla Fedynitch was chosen as the bassist. Faith was released on August 20, 2007 in Europe and November 6, 2007 in North America. The band has not played any live shows recently and it seems that members have been working on side projects, including Franziska completing university.

Catharsis is the fourth and final studio album by Elis, released on 27 November 2009 by Napalm Records. It is the first and only album with Sandra Schleret as their new lead singer after Sabine Dünser's death; the band released in early 2007 the MCD "Show Me The Way".

Sandra Carola Schleret is a singer from Austria, well-known for being the lead singer in bands such as Dreams of Sanity, Elis, and Soulslide. She was also the female vocalist for Austrian band Siegfried and Eyes of Eden with Polish heavy metal musician Waldemar Sorychta.
