Morrison is a city in Whiteside County, Illinois, United States. The population was 4,188 at the 2010 census, down from 4,447 in 2000. It is the county seat of Whiteside County. It is located on the Historic Lincoln Highway, the nation's first transcontinental highway and in Morrison was the site of two concrete "seedling miles", which served as prototypes of what an improved highway could do for the nation.

Ole Kirk Christiansen was a Danish carpenter. In 1932, he founded the construction toy company known as The Lego Group. Christiansen transformed his small woodworking shop, which initially sold household products, into a manufacturer of wooden toys. By 1934, he had officially named the company Lego and established its fundamental principles. The pivotal shift to producing plastic bricks came after the acquisition of a plastic moulding injection machine in 1947. Following Ole's passing in 1958, the company's management was handed over to his son, Godtfred.

The two properties were historically associated with the business operations of William S. Reed, a businessman who operated a toy manufacturing company among other concerns. The properties were listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021.
