Silent Death was an Iranian heavy metal band formed in 1980 in Tehran. The band consisted of lead singer Farshid Arabi, his brother and drummer Farid Arabi, bass guitarist Ali Ravi and guitarist Hamid Abadi. The group was formed during the Iran-Iraq war and, according to Arabi, formed the group to defuse the war stress. [1] [2] The group has been underground for all of its six years of operation. Later, some of the works created during the group's work were re-read by Farshid Arabi. [3] [4] During his time in the city of Tehran, the group was well known and secretly performed in a club called Fakhravar. [5] [6] This group is called the first Iranian heavy metal band. [7] [8] [9] Farshid Arabi later formed another group called the Silent, inspired by the group's name. [10] [11] Farshid's brother, Farid, is also in the band Silent. [12] The rest of the Silent Death members didn't do any specific music activity. [13]
Iranian rock refers to rock music produced by Iranian artists.
