Sindal Municipality was a municipality (Danish : kommune) in Denmark. It was located on the island of Vendsyssel-Thy at the top of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark and belonged to North Jutland County. It was abolished effective 1 January 2007. The municipal seat was located in the town of Sindal.
The former Sindal municipality covered an area of 242 km², and had a total population of 9,425 (2005).
On January 1, 2007 Sindal municipality ceased to exist due to Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with existing Hirtshals, Hjørring, and Løkken-Vrå municipalities to form an expanded Hjørring Municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 929,58 km² and a total population of ca. 67,816.

Until 1 January 2007 Rougsø municipality was a municipality in the former Aarhus County on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark. It covered an area of 224 km², and had a total population of 8.078 (2005). Its last mayor was Torben Jensen. The site of its municipal council was Allingåbro. Other towns in the municipality were Gjesing, Holbæk, Nørager, Vivild, and Ørsted.

Its last mayor was Peter Gade, a member of the Conservative People's Party political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Hvidbjerg.

The North Jutland Region, or in some official sources, the North Denmark Region, is an administrative region of Denmark established on 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish municipal reform, which abolished the traditional counties and set up five larger regions.
