Sister Carrie is an opera by Robert Livingstone Aldridge to a libretto by Herschel Garfein based upon Theodore Dreiser's 1900 novel of the same name about a country girl's pursuit of the American Dream. The opera premiered in Milwaukee by Florentine Opera on October 7, 2016. [1]

Erin Wall was a Canadian-American operatic soprano who had an active international career from 2001 until her death of breast cancer in 2020. Chiefly associated with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Vancouver based soprano appeared with the company in fourteen productions from 2001 through 2018. He served as Artistic Advisor and Principal Conductor of the Florentine Opera Company of Milwaukee, WI for 38 seasons beginning in 1981. He also served as Artistic Director of l'Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal, in Quebec, Canada, for four seasons. His commitment to young musicians and singers returns him each year to La Musica Lirica, a summer program for singers in Northern Italy, where he has been Music Director since 2005., He has mentored Solti Foundation U.S. Award recipients as part of the Foundation's residency project since the 2014–2015 season, first at the Florentine and later elsewhere. In this program, award recipients apprentice through an entire rehearsal and performance cycle.

Carrie Brady is a fictional character from the NBC soap opera, Days of Our Lives, a long-running serial set in the fictional town of Salem. Created by head writer Margaret DePriest, the role of Carrie has been most notably portrayed by Christie Clark, who took over the role in 1986 as a teenager. Clark remained with the series from 1986 to 1999. She returned in 2005, leaving in October 2006, and returned in September 2011 as part of a reboot of the series. Her return was short-lived as she left the show the following July. On September 15, 2016 (Thursday), it was announced that Clark would again reprise her portrayal as Carrie in 2017. Carrie, a lawyer, also returned for several weeks in early 2018 when her mother Anna was accused of the murder of Andre DiMera. She returned in June 2019 for the passing of Caroline Brady. Mark Thomas Ketterson is an American performing arts critic and writer. He is the Chicago correspondent for Opera News magazine, and has also written for Playbill, the Chicago Tribune, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and Chicago (magazine) as well as Concertonet.com, ArtsATL, and Chicago on the Aisle. Ketterson studied drama and psychology at Vanderbilt University and music at Peabody College, Vanderbilt's Blair Academy of Music, and later at Chicago Musical College at Roosevelt University. He trained at Actor's Theatre of Louisville and became involved with Chicago's St. Nicholas Theatre and various national tours. He then completed his graduate study in mental health at the University of Illinois at Chicago and worked as a clinical social worker before focusing on arts journalism.
