The 804-metre-long (2,638 ft) bridge has 40 spans, the longest of which is 32 metres (105 ft). Skjervøy Bridge was opened in 1971. Together with the Maursund Tunnel, it connects the village of Skjervøy to the mainland.

The 85.7-square-kilometre (33.1 sq mi) island lies between the Kvænangen fjord and the Lyngen fjord to the west. The island is home to 27 inhabitants (2001). The island is mountainous with several peaks over 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) above sea level. The highest point is the 1,228-metre (4,029 ft) tall mountain Store Kågtind. Kågen is the 52nd largest island in Norway.

Skjervøy Church is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Skjervøy Municipality in Troms county, Norway. It is located in the village of village of Skjervøy on the island of Skjervøya. It is the main church for the Skjervøy parish which is part of the Nord-Troms prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nord-Hålogaland. The white, wooden church was built in 1728 to replace an older church building. It is the oldest preserved wooden church in the whole diocese, so it is a protected historic site. It was designed by the architect Hans Michelsen in a combination of the common long church style and cruciform style. The church seats about 225 people.
Arnøy Church is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Skjervøy Municipality in Troms county, Norway. It is located in the village of Arnøyhamn on the island of Arnøya. It is one of the two churches for the Skjervøy parish which is part of the Nord-Troms prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nord-Hålogaland. The brown, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1978 using plans drawn up by the architect Harry Gangvik. The church seats about 250 people.

The Maursund Tunnel is an undersea tunnel in Troms county, Norway. The tunnel goes under the Maursundet strait connecting the mainland part of Nordreisa Municipality with the island of Kågen in Skjervøy Municipality. The 2,122-metre (6,962 ft) long tunnel reaches a depth of 92.5 metres (303 ft) below sea level and has a 10% grade in some parts of the tunnel. The tunnel, which was opened in 1991, and the nearby Skattørsundet Bridge connect the large village of Skjervøy to the mainland.
