Spirit Zone Recordings was an independent record label releasing Goa trance, psychedelic trance, progressive trance and ambient music. Founded in 1994 by Wolfgang Ahrens (a.k.a. DJ Antaro), the label has been defunct since July 2005.

Some of the artists that started their careers and released their albums on the label are Electric Universe, Space Tribe, Shiva Chandra, Etnica, and S.U.N. Project. Spirit Zone also released music by Ololiuqui, Star Sounds Orchestra, Patchwork, Gabriel Le Mar, Ooze, Mekkanikka, Necton and many others.

Spirit Zone was also famous with its series of Global Psychedelic Trance compilations that included tracks by the label's artists and other famous names from the international psychedelic trance scene. All releases in the series, except for the first one, were double-CD packs, with the first CD containing dance music and the second CD containing ambient music.

Plusquam Records was a sub-label of Spirit Zone Records formed by Wolfgang Ahrens (a.k.a. DJ Antaro). It was established to release other music styles that did not fit into Spirit Zone's music concept, such as minimal techno and downtempo music.

Infected Mushroom Israeli psytrance/electronica duo

Infected Mushroom is an Israeli musical duo formed in Haifa in 1996 by producers Erez Eisen and Amit Duvdevani. They produce and perform psytrance, electronica, dream trance and psychedelic music. They are one of the best-selling groups in Israeli music history in terms of both domestic and international sales.

Etnica is a project originally formed by Carlo Paterno, Max Lanfranconi, Maurizio Begotti, and Andrea Rizzo. They are a very well known Goa trance project from Milan, Italy.

Koxbox is a Danish musical group formed in 1990 that produced psychedelic trance. It consisted of Peter Candy and Frank É Madsen. Ian Ion, their studio producer, is also sometimes mentioned as part of the group.

Blue Room Released was an electronic music record label from London, England. It operated from 1994 until 2002. and was run by Simon Ghahary.

Acid trance is a genre of trance music that emerged in the early 1990s focusing on using the acid sound. The trademark sound of "acid" is produced with a Roland TB-303 by playing a sequenced melody while altering the instrument's filter cutoff frequency, resonance, envelope modulation, and accent controls. This real-time tone adjustment was not part of the instrument's original intended operation. Acid trance is the best known form of trance music in Belgium. The form was first showcased at the popular Antwerp Rave 24 in Belgium, and has created four national number one singles in the country since.

Suomisaundi, also known as suomisoundi, suomistyge or spugedelic trance, is a style of psychedelic trance that originated in Finland around the mid-1990s. "Suomisaundi" literally means "Finnish sound" in Finnish; music that features many of the characteristics of suomisaundi has gained global popularity.

Wolfgang Voigt Musical artist

Wolfgang Voigt is an electronic music DJ and producer from Cologne, Germany, known for his output under various aliases, such as Gas. He signed on numerous record labels, including Warp, Harvest, Raster-Noton, Force Inc, Astral Industries and Kompakt. The latter was co-founded by Voigt alongside Michael Mayer and Jürgen Paape. He is considered one of the most influential minimal techno artists.

Kompakt is a Cologne-based electronic music independent record label and vinyl/CD distributor, owned by Wolfgang Voigt, Michael Mayer and Jürgen Paape. They specialize in microhouse and minimal techno, and are known for their Total compilation series which reached its seventeenth installment in 2017.

Return to the Source (RTTS) was a London-based Goa trance club and offshoot record label run by partners Chris Decker, Mark Allen, Janice Duncan and Phil Ross. Along with the recurring Escape from Samsara party, which also had a monthly Friday night slot at The Fridge in the mid-1990s, it was an early mainstay of Trance in its underground days and through its breakout in the late 1990s. According to Allmusic, its "compilation series of the best trance music on the scene...brought Goa trance to the mainstream hordes".

Black Hole Recordings

Black Hole Recordings is a Dutch record label founded by Tijs Verwest (Tiësto) and Arny Bink in 1997. In August 2009, Tiësto decided to part ways with Black Hole Recordings, setting up the label Musical Freedom in association with PIAS Entertainment Group.

John Fleming is an English trance producer and DJ from Worthing, West Sussex. He has had releases on record labels such as Ministry of Sound, Deconstruction Records, Logic Records, and 3 Beat Music. He also owns and runs Joof Recordings. He has performed at many clubs including Cream, Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound, and Godskitchen.

Suntrip Records

Suntrip Records is a half-French, half-Belgian record label, releasing Goa trance and melodic Psychedelic trance. Suntrip Records was set up in the summer of 2004 by Fabien "Mars" Marsaud, one of the founders of the Psynews.org website and Joske "Anoebis" Vranken, a Belgian DJ and party-organiser.

Electric Universe is a psychedelic trance project from Germany formed by Boris Blenn and Michael Dressler in 1991. Their first EP release, Solar Energy, was an instant hit with the underground trance scene and is often credited with putting the Spirit Zone Recordings label at the forefront of psychedelic trance early on. According to The Sofia Echo, they were "hailed in the 1990s as one of the top psychedelic trance projects to come out of Germany".

Oforia Musical artist

Ofer Dikovsky better known by his stage name Oforia is an electronic music artist and music producer from Israel and one of Israel's longest standing electronic music artists. He has been active internationally creating the first form of the dominant Israeli electronic sound. Because of his work, he is considered one of the inventors of the genre in Israel. Besides solo career, he was involved in musical projects Oforia, Indoor, Tandu, Pigs in Space, Phreaky, OB1 and Ofer Di.

Psydub is a fusion genre of electronic music that has its roots in psychedelic trance, ambient and dub music. Incorporated dub elements are melodic basslines, deep reggae roots and producing techniques like dynamically adding extensive echo, reverb, panoramic delay, and occasional dubbing of vocal or instrumental snippets from the original version or other works. An incorporated ambient element is an emphasis on tone and atmosphere. Incorporated psytrance elements are low-bass frequencies and hypnotic melodies and the use of samples. Those samples mostly contain references to drugs, parapsychology, extraterrestrial life, existentialism, out of body experiences, dreams, science, time travel, spirituality and similar mysterious or unconventional topics. Psydub is also highly influenced by the music of India.

Future Sound of Egypt (FSOE) is an independent Egyptian electronic music record label specializing in trance music. It was founded by Egyptian DJ & producer duo Aly & Fila in 2009. In 2010, FSOE joined Armada Music and continued that partnership up until 2016, when they split from Armada to continue as an independent record label.

Exist Dance was a Los Angeles based record label started by Tom Chasteen and Michael Kandel in 1991. Releasing the music of Tranquility Bass, Eden Transmission, Merge, Freaky Chakra, and more, they were part of the early development of trance, techno, breaks, and chill out music on the West Coast of the United States.
