Courtenay was settled in the 1870s and 1880s by people from Charleston, South Carolina, and was named for William Ashmead Courtenay, a native of Charleston, Confederate veteran and Charleston businessman who later served two terms as Mayor of Charleston.
St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church is an historic Carpenter Gothic church in Titusville, Florida, United States. The church was built in 1887 on donated land and is located at 414 Pine Avenue. On December 5, 1972, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

On June 15, 1990, St. Luke's and its cemetery were added to the National Register of Historic Places as Old St. Luke's Episcopal Church and Cemetery.

All Saints' Episcopal Church, Waveland, is an historic Carpenter Gothic church built in 1898 on Crossroads Hill in Waveland, now part of Jensen Beach, Florida It is the oldest church building located in what is now Martin County, Florida. It is also the northernmost parish in the present-day Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida. When the church was built the land it is on was in Brevard County. From 1910-25, it was in St. Lucie County. Since 1925 it has been in Martin County. Its rector, W. Frisby Hendricks III recently retired and the parish is starting the search process to call a new rector.

The Nannie Lee House, often referred to as Strawberry Mansion, is a historic U.S. home located at 1218 East New Haven Avenue, Melbourne, Florida. John B. Lee and his wife Nannie McBride Lee from Albion, New York built the house in 1905. Lily Tidwell, adopted granddaughter of Nannie Lee, inherited the house in 1929, and her family lived there for many years. The house served as a restaurant called The Strawberry Mansion from 1981 until 2007.

Melbourne Bone Bed is a paleontological site located at Crane Creek in Melbourne, in the U.S. state of Florida. This site contains fossils from the Late Pleistocene period 20,000 to 10,000 years before present. The fossils include extinct animals such as varieties of camels, giant armadillos, giant beavers, giant bison, giant ground sloths, mammoths, mastodons, saber-toothed cats and tapirs.
The H. S. Williams House was a historic U.S. home located at 1219 Rockledge Drive, Rockledge, Florida. Hiram Smith Williams built the house in 1880 after moving to the area in 1874 from Alabama. Williams grew citrus, founded Brevard Telephone Company, and served as a Florida state senator. The third floor of the home was used as a schoolroom for children, becoming one of the first schools in the county. Brevard County purchased the home in 1989 and restored it. In 2012, the Preservation and Education Trust from Rockledge was raising money to turn the house into a historic museum.
