The Hummingbirds were an Australian indie pop and jangle pop band from Sydney, Australia, who formed in 1986 from Bug Eyed Monsters. They were one of the most highly regarded outfits to emerge from Sydney's inner-city scene during the late 1980s and were an early signing to the rooArt label. The Hummingbirds' single, "Blush", peaked at No.19 on the ARIA singles charts in 1989. They left rooArt in 1992, and disbanded in 1993.
The band reunited for a show on 27 January 2011, for the Big Day Out festival in Sydney and also some additional performances later that year. The band reunited again to play two shows in Sydney in July 2016. Simon Holmes died in July 2017, and "Hindsight: A Night For Simon", a sold-out memorial mini-festival gig of associated bands was held at the Factory Theatre in Marrickville, Sydney on 3 December of that year.
Sun Kil Moon is an American folk rock act from San Francisco, California, founded in 2002. Initially a continuation of the defunct indie rock band Red House Painters, Sun Kil Moon is now the primary recording moniker of vocalist and guitarist Mark Kozelek. The project is named after the Korean super flyweight boxer Sung-Kil Moon.
Vol. 3: is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Slipknot. The album was released on May 25, 2004, by Roadrunner Records, and a special edition, containing a bonus disc, was released on April 12, 2005. It is the band's only album produced by Rick Rubin, and also the only one not to feature any profanity. Following the band's tour to promote its second album in 2002, speculation regarding the future began. Some band members had already been involved in side projects including Murderdolls, To My Surprise, and the reformation of Stone Sour. In 2003, Slipknot moved into The Mansion to work on the album. Initially, the band was unproductive; lead vocalist Corey Taylor was drinking heavily. Nevertheless, they wrote more than enough material for a new album—the band's first to incorporate more traditional, melodic song structures, guitar solos and acoustic guitars.

Acre Loss is a collaboration project between electronic musician Mark Templeton and filmmaker aAron Munson. Released in 2009 by Anticipate Recordings, Acre Loss explores the artists' feelings of attachment to the land from which they came and will leave behind. This is a CD/DVD set with ten musical compositions accompanied by ten short films shot in Alberta, Canada. The artist collaboration was made possible through funding from the Edmonton Cultural Capital Explorations Grant program, in which each artist attempted to mentor the other in his craft.

In writing the album, lead vocalist Mark Hall collaborated with songwriters Steven Curtis Chapman, Matthew West, and Tom Douglas.
