Storhamar is a neighborhood of Hamar, Norway, west of the town center and formerly in the municipality Vang. It is the location of the distillery Arcus, the national lottery Norsk Tipping and the Hamar Olympic Amphitheatre sports venue. Norwegian sports club Storhamar IL comes from the area.

Anno Museum in Hamar, Norway is a regional museum for the municipalities of Stange, Hamar, Løten, and Ringsaker in central eastern Norway. It includes the medieval Cathedral Ruins in Hamar mentioned in Sigrid Undset's literary magnum opus Kristin Lavransdatter. The cathedral ruins are secured under a glass shelter designed by Lund & Slaatto Architects and completed in 1998.
Hamarhus at Hamar in Hedmark, Norway was originally the fortified palace of the Bishop of the Ancient Diocese of Hamar. It is now the site of Storhamarlåven, an exhibit of Anno Museum.

It is home to the Norwegian First Division side Hamarkameratene (Ham-Kam) and is owned by Hamar Municipality. The venue has artificial turf, three stands and a capacity for 8,068 spectators. It was used for the 1938 Norwegian Football Cup Final—which saw the venue's record 14,500 spectators—and has also hosted five Norway national under-21 football team matches between 1984 and 2011.
Patrick Thoresen is a Norwegian professional ice hockey left winger who is currently playing for the Storhamar Dragons in the GET-ligaen. He resides in Hamar, Norway, where he grew up, during the off season. He has a younger brother, Steffen who's also an ice hockey player. His father Petter was one of Norway's most notable players who played at five Olympic Winter Games (1980–1994). Thoresen would follow in his father's footsteps and play in the Winter Olympics in Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014.
CC Amfi, also known as Nordlyshallen, is an indoor sports arena in Hamar, Norway. It is mostly used for ice hockey and is the home arena of Storhamar Hockey. It has also been used for short track speed skating, figure skating, handball, events and concerts. The venue has a capacity for 7,000 spectators and was built for the 1994 Winter Olympics, where it was used for short track speed skating and figure skating. Other major events held at the arena include the 1999 IIHF World Championship in ice hockey, the 1999 World Women's Handball Championship, the 2012 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships and the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics.
Storhamar Ishockey, often referred to by its initials SIL, is a Norwegian ice hockey team based in Hamar, Norway. The club currently plays in the GET-ligaen, the highest level of Norwegian hockey. The club has won seven regular season titles and seven national championships since its founding on 18 March 1957. Storhamar play their home games in the CC Amfi. The club also includes the largest junior department in Norwegian ice hockey. The team colours are yellow and blue.

Hedmark University of Applied Sciences was a høgskole, a Norwegian state institution of higher education, in the county of Innlandet, Norway. From 1 January 2017 Hedmark University of Applied Sciences and Lillehammer University College were merged into the new institution, Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences.

Johnsen made his debut for the senior team as a 16-year-old in December, 1992 against Hasle/Løren. Since then was loyal to Storhamar except for two seasons in Sweden with Leksands IF and Skellefteå AIK 2000–02. Johnsen got 48 official games for the national team, and received the Golden Puck award as the Norwegian player of the year in 2000.
