History
The Kangaroos were the first all-French Australian football club, which was founded in 2005 by a sports teacher, Marc Jund, and a small group of friends.
Within the ASFA (Association Strasbougeoise de Football Australian), the team tried to popularise the sport which is still relevantly unknown in France. The club also has tried to create links with the Australian football championships of Germany, which serves at the same time a good example of the development and episodical structure for training of the game.
The club joined the German Championship in 2006 although having to change their name for the occasion, adopting that of the Black Devils of Strasbourg. In being that the name of 'Kangaroos' was already used by a team from Munich.
Australian rules football in Germany is currently played by six clubs within the Australian Football League of Germany (AFLG) the governing body. Three clubs run metro leagues. The Dresden Wolves compete in the CAAFL of the Czech Republic and some other formitive clubs play on an ad hoc basis within Germany.

The Black Devils also integrate the club omnisport SUC (Strasbourg Université Club).
After having finished 5th of the German Championship, the club decided to leave AFLG in 2007 and reverted to the name of 'Kangaroos'.
In 2007 the club team took part in three friendly matches against German clubs. Nine player from the Kangaroos constituted the back bone of the French selection at the time of the European Championship in Hamburg. Where they finished 7th
The Euro Cup is an international Australian rules football tournament played between European national teams. Played under 9-a-side Footy rules, the tournament was first held at Chiswick in London, England in 2005, created by Australian Football International. A women's cup has been played between more than two teams since the 2014 tournament.
In 2009 the French League was inaugurated. Strasbourg finished second in the French Championship behind Paris and fourth in the French Cup.
The Strasbourg Kangaroos are seeking new players for the 2010 season. Beginners and experienced players from Australia, France and elsewhere are welcome.

The Australian national rugby league team have represented Australia in senior men's rugby league football competition since the establishment of the 'Northern Union game' in Australia in 1908. Administered by the Australian Rugby League, the Kangaroos are ranked first in the RLIF World Rankings. The team is the most successful in Rugby League World Cup history, having contested all 15 and winning 11 of them, failing to reach the final only once, in the inaugural tournament in 1954. Only four nations have beaten Australia in test matches, and Australia have an overall win percentage of 67%.
The France national rugby league team represent France in international rugby league tournaments. They are referred to as les Chanticleers or less commonly as les Tricolores. The team is run under the auspices of the Fédération Française de Rugby à XIII and is largely made up of players from Super League and the Elite One Championship.
The Salford Red Devils are a professional rugby league club in Salford, Greater Manchester, England, who play in the Super League. Formed in 1873, they have won six Championships and one Challenge Cup. Their home ground since 2012 has been the AJ Bell Stadium in Barton-upon-Irwell, before which they played at the Willows in Weaste. Before 1995, the club was known simply as Salford, from 1995–98 Salford Reds and from 1999–2013 Salford City Reds.
Football Club de Nantes, commonly referred to as FC Nantes or simply Nantes, is a French association football club based in Nantes, Pays de la Loire. The club was founded on 21 April 1943, during World War II, as a result of local clubs based in the city coming together to form one large club. From 1992 to 2007, the club was referred to as FC Nantes Atlantique before reverting to its current name at the start of the 2007–08 season. Nantes currently play in Ligue 1, the first division of French football.
Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace is a French association football club founded in 1906, based in the city of Strasbourg, Alsace. It has possessed professional status since 1933 and is currently playing the 2018–19 season in Ligue 1, the top tier of French football, after winning the 2016–17 Ligue 2 championship. This comes after the club was demoted to the fifth tier of French football at the conclusion of the 2010–11 Championnat National season after going into financial liquidation. Renamed RC Strasbourg Alsace, they won the CFA championship in 2012–13, and eventually became Championnat National champions in 2015–16.
The Great Britain men's national Australian rules football team is known as the Great Britain Bulldogs. The team is made up of the best British born players selected from clubs of in England, Wales and Scotland, and occasional appearances from British players playing for clubs in Australia.
Australian rules football in France is played in both league and cup based formats. As of the 2017/2018 season there are eight clubs based in Paris, Bordeaux, Perpignan, Toulouse, Blagnac, Lyon, and Cergy-Pontoise that compete in the national league. The Commission Nationale de Football Australien (CNFA) is the official governing body for Australian Football in France. In addition to the teams that compete in the national league, there are a number of other teams either in formation or playing in friendly and cup matches, these teams are located in Strasbourg, Bayonne, Montpellier, Lille and Antony. There are four tournaments held annually, the national league known as the French National Championship and three cup competitions; the French Cup, North Cup and South Cup.
Dijon Football Côte d'Or is a French association football club based in Dijon. The club was founded in 1998 as a result of a merger between two local clubs in the city, and competed in Ligue 2 after suffering relegation from Ligue 1 in the 2011–12 season. The club earned promotion back to Ligue 1 at the end of the 2015–16 season. The club president is Olivier Delcourt and the first-team is coached by Olivier Dall'Oglio, a former football player. Dijon play its home matches at the Stade Gaston Gérard.
Football Club de Rouen 1899 is a French association football club based in Rouen. The club was formed in 1899 and currently plays in Championnat National 3, the fifth level of French football. Rouen played its home matches at the Stade Robert Diochon; named after Robert Diochon, a historic player who was influential during the club's infancy. The team is managed by former football player Éric Garcin and captained by defender Pierre Vignaud. Rouen is known as Les Diables Rouges and have been since 1903.
Australian rules football is played in Europe at an amateur level in a large number of countries. The oldest and largest leagues are those in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Denmark, each nation having a number of clubs, organised junior programs and women's football. The British AFL has now dramatically expanded into the Welsh, Scottish and English leagues. The Danish AFL has been responsible for the expansion of Australian Football into Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Norway. The governing body for Australian Football in Europe was founded in Frankfurt in January 2010; the body was initially called the European Australian Football Association, but changed its name to AFL Europe at a general assembly meeting in Milan in October of the same year. It currently has 19 member nations. AFL Europe, with backing of the AFL in Australia has overseen a large improvement in the organisation of Australian football in Europe.

The Bordeaux Bombers are an Australian Football club based in Bordeaux, France. It is the sixth club in France to play Australian Rules Football, after the Tasmania Montivilliers, Paris Cockerels, Strasbourg Kangaroos, Senlis Razorbacks and Saint-Estève Saints.
The Paris Cockerels are the oldest French Australian football club still in activity. Created by a community of Australians living in Paris, it is mainly composed of French and Australian players. They were responsible for the organization of the first 'Coupe de France' of Australian football, on 28 June 2008.
The Fire Sharks of Montpellier are a French Australian Rules Football club based in Montpellier. They're the 7th Australian football club in France, after the Tasmania Montivilliers, Paris Cockerels, Strasbourg Kangourous, Senlis Razorbacks, Saint-Estève Saints and the Bordeaux Bombers. The Fire Sharks are the 4th oldest active club from the Mediterranean Coast in France, seeing that the clubs of Montivilliers, Senlis and Saint-Estève have all since folded.
