Sumcot is the Sumve Community Computer Training Center. It is, like the name suggests, a computer training center, set up in the town of Sumve, near Mwanza in Tanzania. It was created with the help of Wilde Ganzen, a Dutch NGO, and the Sumve Foundation, an organization with the aim of supporting the Sumve Designated District Hospital (DDH).

Sumve, Tanzania is located in the Kwimba District of the Mwanza Region, in Tanzania. Sumve's residents are predominantly from the Wasukuma tribe, the largest in Tanzania, but some of Sumve's institutions employ Wahaya, Wajita, Wakerewe, Wanyamwezi and others from neighboring tribes. Therefore, many of the residents speak Kisukuma along with Swahili, the national language. The population was 16,436 in 2012, making it the 15th most populous ward in the Kwimba district.

Mwanza is a port city on the southern shore of Lake Victoria in north-western Tanzania. With a population of more than 800,000, it is Tanzania's second largest city, after Dar es Salaam. Mwanza is the capital of the surrounding Mwanza Region, and is administratively divided into two municipal districts within that Region - Ilemela and Nyamagana.

Sumcot is used to train the following groups of people in basic computer skills:

The center currently has 16 student computers, plus one teacher desktop and a teacher laptop computer. It has a projector, used to give presentations as part of the lessons. There is also a Local Area Network and a central file server. Recently, TTCL have erected a tower at Sumcot, which will soon be delivering fast internet services.

The Constitution of Cambodia establishes that the state shall protect and upgrade citizen's rights to quality education at all levels, guaranteeing that all citizens have equal opportunity to earn a living. The state shall adopt an education program "according to the principle of modern pedagogy including technology and foreign languages," as well as the state controls public and private schools and classrooms at all levels. The Cambodian education system includes pre-school, primary, general secondary, higher education and non-formal education. The education system includes the development of sport, information technology education, research development and technical education. School enrollment has increased during the 2000s in Cambodia. USAID data shows that in 2011 primary enrollment reached 96% of the child population, lower secondary school 34% and upper secondary 21%.

Notre Dame of Marbel University

Notre Dame of Marbel University is a Catholic educational institution located in Koronadal City, South Cotabato, Philippines. It is run by the Marist Brothers or FMS , a Catholic religious order from France. It offers pre-school, elementary, high school, college and postgraduate courses. It is the first Marist university in the Philippines, and it houses the largest library in Mindanao, known as NDMU Library. NDMU is the only university in Koronadal City and it has been a member of the Notre Dame Educational Association, a group of Notre Dame Schools in the Philippines under the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also the Patroness of the University.

The Citizens Foundation (TCF) is a non-profit organization, and one of the largest privately owned networks of low-cost formal schools in Pakistan. The Foundation operates a network of 1,482 school units, educating 220,000 students through 12,000 teachers and principals, with over 17,400 employees. Approximately 94% of the Foundation's expenditure is allocated to the Education program.

Mahabir Pun Nepalese teacher

Mahabir Pun is a Nepalese teacher, social entrepreneur and an activist known for his extensive work in applying wireless technologies to develop remote areas of the Himalayas, also known as the Nepal Wireless Networking Project. He is a widely known figure in Nepal, and his work has been recognized by the Ashoka Foundation, the Ramon Magsaysay Foundation, University of Nebraska, and Global Ideas Bank. He is a humanitarian whose work is inspiring many youths to return their own country and serve it for its development. Mahabir Pun is a person with phenomenal qualities, he is always ready to eradicate different problems inside the country.

SONNE-International is a development organisation that initiates and supports educational programmes as well as health care and rural development projects. The main focus is on education and training for disadvantaged children and adolescents. The organisation was founded in 2002 by Austrian doctor Dr. Susanne Prügger and the current chairman, Erfried Malle. In 2011 Mr. Malle was elected "Austrian of the year" in recognition of his humanitarian engagement in the framework of the ORF press gala Austria '11. Since 2006 SONNE-International has regularly been awarded the Austrian Seal of Approval for Charitable Organisations, since 2009 donations made to the organisation are tax-deductible. Currently (2015) SONNE-International operates or supports 68 schools and four student hostels or day care centres where approximately 7,000 students receive an education. Altogether, approximately 35,000 people benefit from the SONNE projects each year.

The Don Bosco Foundation of Cambodia is a Non-profit organization of education founded in Cambodia in 1991 to give technical skill education to youth living in extreme poverty and to facilitate the schooling of marginalized children. The organization was a way to answer the needs of a country in its post-war period of reconstruction. DBFC is a branch of the Salesians of Don Bosco. The United Nations asked to the Salesians in Thailand to attend the children and youth of the Cambodian Refugee camps during the 1980s. DBFC answered this request by opening provisional technical schools in the camps. After the peace agreements, the organization was invited by the Cambodian government to settle in the country. After the war the first printing press in Cambodia was provided by DBFC in the Don Bosco Technical School of Phnom Penh for the republishing, translating and writing of books and documents of education. Many schools were rebuilt in the villages and the Organization gained prestige as the first institution to provide technical education and to offer sponsorship to Cambodian children.

Education in Malawi stresses academic preparation leading to access to secondary school and universities. However, few students go on to high school or university. The dropout rate is also very high particularly among primary school pupils.

Selela is an administrative ward in the Monduli district of the Arusha Region of Tanzania. The name Selela means Clean water in the Maasai language.
The population is growing rapidly: according to the 2002 census, the ward had a total population of 5,102, in the 2012 census this number has risen to 8,703. This number can be divided in the main village Selela (4,691) and the subvillage Mbaash (4,012).

Phaungdawoo Monastic Education Affiliated High School or Phaung Daw Oo Monastic School is a high school of Theravada Buddhist monastic education located in Aungmyethazan Township, Mandalay, Myanmar. Founded in 1993, the school comprises an Administration Department, Academic Department, Special Projects Development Department, Finance & Account Department, Vocational Department, Information Technology Department and Health Care Department. Dzodze Penyi Senior High School is located in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region, Ghana. The school was established in 1963 as a college for teacher training. The high school has 44 permanent teachers, 35 non-teaching staff, one service person and one Peace-Corps volunteer. The motto of the School is 'Stoop to Conquer.' These words were taken from a comedy titled She Stoops to Conquer, which was written by Irish author Oliver Goldsmith.

Varkey Foundation nonprofit organization in London, United Kingdom

The Varkey Foundation, initially the Varkey GEMS Foundation, is a global charitable foundation focused on improving the standards of education for underprivileged children. It was formed in 2010 by Indian businessman Sunny Varkey, the founder and chairman of GEMS Education, the world's largest operator of kindergarten-to-grade-12 schools. The foundation's main focuses are improving global teacher capacity by training tens of thousands of teachers and principals in developing countries; providing access to education via a variety of programmes and projects; and advocating for change in, and conducting research that can help develop, education policies worldwide.
