Curling was included in the program of the inaugural Winter Olympic Games in 1924 in Chamonix although the results of that competition were not considered official by the International Olympic Committee until 2006. Curling was a demonstration sport at the 1932 Games, and then again after a lengthy absence in 1988 and 1992. The sport was finally added to the official program for the Nagano 1998.
Sapsiree Taerattanachai is a Thai badminton player. She claimed titles in the mixed doubles with Dechapol Puavaranukroh at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games and at the 2021 World Championships. Taerattanachai and Puavaranukroh made history as the first ever Thai pair to win the year-end Finals tournaments, the World Championships title and rank first in the world ranking.
Lê Ngọc Nguyên Nhung is a Vietnamese badminton player. She joined the Ho Chi Minh City team in 1996, and was a part of the National team at the 2001, 2003, 2005, and 2009 Southeast Asian Games. She was the National Champion in the women's singles event in 2007–2009, and also in the women's doubles event in 2009. In 2008, she competed at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, but lost in the first round.
Athletics competitions at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games were held at the National Stadium, East Coast Park and Kallang Practice Track in Singapore from 6 to 12 June. A total of 46 athletics events are featured at the 28th SEA Games, divided evenly between the sexes. The marathon started and finished in the stadium and had a route in the surrounding area including the East Coast Park, Marina Bay and the Gardens by the Bay.
The 2021 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 31st Southeast Asian Games or 31st SEA Games and also known as Vietnam 2021, is a biennial regional multi-sport event currently held from 12 to 23 May 2022 in Hanoi, Vietnam. Originally scheduled to take place from 21 November to 2 December 2021, it was rescheduled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam. The competition features 40 sports, mainly those played at the Olympic Games. This is the second time that Vietnam has hosted the Southeast Asian Games, having previously hosted the 2003 edition.

Seven events were featured for tennis namely: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, men's team and women's team.
The women's football tournament at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games will be held from 6–22 May 2022 in Vietnam. Seven Southeast Asian nations are scheduled to participate in the women's tournament. All matches will be played in Quảng Ninh. There is no age limit for this tournament. Indonesia withdrew from the competition after the draw. Malaysia withdrew from the competition before the draw. Timor-Leste did not take part in the competition.
