East Timor participated in the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou from 12 November to 27 November 2010. They will participate in athletics, beach volleyball, boxing, cycling, karate, taekwondo, table tennis, and weightlifting. The contingent comprises 29 athletes, 21 men and 8 women.

The men's team table tennis event was part of the table tennis programme and took place between October 1 and 5, at the Dongchun Gymnasium, Ulsan.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Fan Zhendong</span> Chinese table tennis player

Fan Zhendong is a Chinese professional table tennis player. After joining the Chinese national table tennis team in 2012 as the youngest member of the team, he went on to become the youngest ITTF World Tour Champion and the youngest World Table Tennis Champion. In April 2018, he achieved the top spot in the world rankings after holding position No. 2 for 29 consecutive months, starting from November 2015. He won the Olympic gold medal in men's singles at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, becoming just the 6th male player to achieve a Grand Slam.

The women's team table tennis event at the 2018 Asian Games took place from 26 to 28 August 2018 at the Jakarta International Expo. Team ranking was based on the ITTF world team ranking of August 2018.

The women's singles table tennis event was part of the table tennis programme at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. The event took place from 24 July to 29 July 2021 at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.

Singapore competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is the nation's seventeenth appearance at the Summer Olympics since its debut at the 1948 Games. In addition, Singapore was part of the Malaysian team at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, but did not attend at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, because of its support for the United States boycott. The opening ceremony flag-bearers for Singapore are table tennis player Yu Mengyu and shuttler Loh Kean Yew. Diver Jonathan Chan is the flag-bearer for the closing ceremony.
