Tahir Hussain (born 8 May 1969), known for his role in Citizenship Amendment Act protests, is the former councillor of the Aam Aadmi Party who was elected from Ward 59 in Nehru Vihar, East Delhi. [1] [2] [3] [4]

He came into the spotlight due to his alleged involvement in the 2020 Northeast Delhi communal violence. He is currently accused of the murder of Intelligence Bureau officer Ankit Sharma and instigating an organized mob during the ongoing riots. [7] [8] [9]
The Delhi High Court granted him bail in five of the eleven cases registered against him related to the riots. However, he remains in prison in connection with the remaining cases, including the main conspiracy case. [10] [11] His bail plea was denied after the Delhi court said that allegations on Hussain are prima facie true. [12] [13] [14]
Hussain has also faced a money laundering case for allegedly funding the riots. In a separate case, a Delhi court stated that Hussain was not only a conspirator but "an active rioter" as well, and framed charges against him under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code. [15] [16]

Government of NCT of Delhi versus Union of India & Another [C. A. No. 2357 of 2017] is a civil appeal heard before the Supreme Court of India by a five-judge constitution bench of the court. The case was filed as an appeal to an August 2016 verdict of the Delhi High Court that ruled that the lieutenant governor of Delhi exercised "complete control of all matters regarding National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi", and was heard by the Supreme Court in November and December 2017.
The 2020 Delhi riots, or North East Delhi riots, were multiple waves of bloodshed, property destruction, and rioting in North East Delhi, beginning on 23 February 2020 and brought about chiefly by Hindu mobs attacking Muslims. Of the 53 people killed, two-thirds were Muslims who were shot, slashed with repeated blows, or set on fire. The dead also included over a dozen Hindus, who were shot or assaulted. More than a week after the violence had ended, hundreds of wounded were languishing in inadequately staffed medical facilities and corpses were being found in open drains. By mid-March many Muslims had remained missing.
Kishan Bharvad, a 30-year-old Hindu shopowner, was shot by Shabbir and Imtiaz in the Modhwala locality in the city of Dhandhuka in Gujarat, India on 25 January 2022, and he died on the spot. The 2 accused were arrested by the police. The case is being investigated by the Anti-Terrorism Squad and the National Investigation Agency.
Laxman Lucky Bisht, also known as Lucky Bisht, is a NSG commando and intelligence operative. He served as a personal bodyguard to politicians such as Tarun Gogoi, L. K. Advani, Chandrababu Naidu, Rajnath Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In 2009, Bisht earned the title of India's Best NSG Commando. Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, India, was arrested on 21 March 2024 around 09:00 pm IST after not responding to nine summons from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi liquor scam, becoming the first sitting chief minister in Indian history to be arrested. He was given interim bail by the Supreme Court of India from 10 May 2024 to 1 June 2024 to campaign for 2024 Indian general election. Kejriwal surrendered at the Tihar Jail on 2 June 2024 after the expiration of this bail. A Delhi trial court granted bail to Kejriwal on 20 June, which was stayed by the Delhi High Court on 21 May before he could be released. Kejriwal was questioned for three days and arrested on 26 June 2024 by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from Tihar Jail and subsequently was sent to judicial custody till 12 July. The Supreme Court granted interim bail to Kejriwal in money laundering case related to the alleged excise policy scam on 12 July 2024. However, he remains in Tihar Jail as he was also arrested by CBI in corruption case related to the alleged liquor policy scam.
