Originally released on his album Move Until We Fly (1990), it was released as a single in the same year and, as a remix in 2004. The original version achieved success in Europe, including Austria and Sweden where it topped the charts. It was covered multiple times by bands like Dead or Alive or by A-Teens. In 2009, the song was covered by Swedish musician Basshunter.

Telling Lies is a narrative video game developed by Sam Barlow and Furious Bee and published by Annapurna Interactive in August 2019 for Microsoft Windows, iOS.
