John Sigismund Zápolya or Szapolyai was King of Hungary as John II from 1540 to 1551 and from 1556 to 1570, and the first Prince of Transylvania, from 1570 to his death. He was the only son of John I, King of Hungary, and Isabella of Poland. John I ruled parts of the Kingdom of Hungary with the support of the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman; the remaining areas were ruled by Ferdinand I of Habsburg, who also ruled Austria and Bohemia. The two kings concluded a peace treaty in 1538 acknowledging Ferdinand's right to reunite Hungary after John I's death, though shortly after John Sigismund's birth, and on his deathbed, John I bequeathed his realm to his son. The late king's staunchest supporters elected the infant John Sigismund king, but he was not crowned with the Holy Crown of Hungary.
Guillaume de Salluste Du Bartas was a Gascon Huguenot courtier and poet. Trained as a doctor of law, he served in the court of Henri de Navarre for most of his career. Du Bartas was celebrated across sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Europe for his divine poetry, particularly L'Uranie (1574), Judit (1574), La Sepmaine; ou, Creation du monde (1578), and La Seconde Semaine (1584-1603).

Town Creek is a 41.6-mile-long (66.9 km) tributary stream of the Potomac River in the U.S. states of Maryland and Pennsylvania. The creek is formed from the confluence of Sweet Root Creek and Elk Lick Creek, about 0.5 miles (0.8 km) south of Buchanan State Forest in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. Town Creek flows south along the base of Warrior Mountain into Allegany County, Maryland. The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal crosses it at the Town Creek Aqueduct. It empties into the Potomac about 4 miles (6 km) east of Oldtown, Maryland.

Bárta was announced as the Czech representative on 15 February 2017, while the song "My Turn" was presented to the public on 7 March 2017.
