The Dan & Scott Show was an uncensored comedy program named for its hosts, Dan Schulz and Scott Wirkus. The show is credited as pioneering internet radio, with its uncensored comedy format that is now more commonplace both online and in satellite radio formats such as XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio. The show was first made available as downloadable audio, an early form of podcasting, on AOL in 1995. It debuted as a live streaming audio format on April 1, 1996 first via Audionet.com AKA Broadcast.com. Throughout the show's five-year run, it moved from between several streaming providers such as Audionet, Audioactive, Talkspot.com, Radio HTB, and finally Eyada.com. They had the show on radiofun.com for a number of years as well.

The show was one of the few kept by Eyada in their restructuring attempts but in the end both the Dan and Scott show and Eyada failed to survive the tail end of the dot com crash of 2000-2001 due to Eyada's financial troubles. [3] [4]

The show first received national attention when Rick Rockwell, the bachelor from Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire? appeared on the show making a plea for contestants. [1] The show also received attention for the weekly Survivor predictions from regular show caller "Jesus". [5]

After trying to find another site to broadcast the show, it became apparent that the dot com crash had killed all the viable streamed radio sites on the market. After trying to work deals with many networks outside the streaming world in 2001–2002 they had a meeting with HBO. But HBO wanted a sanitized version of the show; Dan and Scott submitted a censored demo that exists but felt they just couldn't do the show HBO wanted. Then XM and Sirius also asked for a clean version of the show, which did not come to fruition there. Big supporter of the show and Eyada owner Bob Meyrowitz offered them a chance for a nationally syndicated morning radio show. Bob's big plan was for them to take on Howard Stern. Ultimately though, Scott and Dan decided to stop doing the show; they announced it was going on hiatus on August 24, 2002.[ citation needed ]

Miller is frequently joined on the air by executive producer Jody Hamilton and general manager Chris Lavoie. The show debuted on September 7, 2004 and is broadcast live from Los Angeles, California each weekday morning from 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time, on Pacifica station, KPFK in LA, and radio stations throughout the U.S., as well as online, and via SiriusXM Progress Channel 127. The show is also video simulcast live on Free Speech TV. Audio of each day's show is also available commercial-free for download from the show's website via the paid subscription Stephcast, which has been available since June 2005. The radio show should not be confused with Miller's short-lived 1995 syndicated TV talk show with the same name.

The Foxxhole was an uncensored comedy channel on Sirius XM Radio channel 96. Presented by actor/comedian/musician Jamie Foxx, the network broadcasts a variety of comedy and urban music such as hip-hop and R&B in addition to live talk shows broadcast during the weekdays. The channel originally debuted on Sirius 106 on May 17, 2007, and began broadcasting simultaneously on XM 149 on November 12, 2008, until both services moved The Foxxhole to channel 96 on May 4, 2011.

Art Bell's Dark Matter was an American radio talk show hosted by broadcaster and author Art Bell. Dark Matter primarily focused on paranormal and scientific topics. The program was exclusive to Sirius XM Radio, a subscription-based satellite radio service. Dark Matter debuted on September 16, 2013, and aired live Monday through Thursday from 10 pm ET to 2 am ET on Sirius XM Radio's Indie Talk Channel 104. Dark Matter was the first program hosted by Art Bell full-time since his departure from regularly hosting Coast to Coast AM in 2003. On November 4, 2013, Bell announced that he was abruptly ceasing the production and airing of Dark Matter following a dispute with Sirius XM Radio regarding Sirius XM customers experiencing technical difficulties streaming his show live via the Internet.
