Guy de Lusignan was a French Poitevin knight, son of Sir Hugh VIII of Lusignan and as such born of the House of Lusignan. He was king of the Kingdom of Jerusalem from 1186 to 1192 by right of marriage to Sibylla of Jerusalem, and King of Cyprus from 1192 to 1194. Having arrived in the Holy Land at an unknown date, Guy was hastily married to Sibylla in 1180 to prevent a political incident within the kingdom. As the health of his brother-in-law, Baldwin IV, deteriorated, Guy was appointed regent for his stepson by Sibylla, Baldwin V. Baldwin IV died in 1185, followed shortly by Baldwin V in 1186, leading to the succession of Sibylla and Guy to the throne. Guy's reign was marked by increased hostilities with the Ayyubids ruled by Saladin, culminating in the Battle of Hattin in July 1187—during which Guy was captured—and the fall of Jerusalem itself three months later.

Cameron Mica Boyce was an American actor. After making his first acting appearance in a Panic! at the Disco music video, he made his film debut in Mirrors in 2008. Boyce then went on to star as Luke Ross in Disney Channel's comedy series Jessie from 2011 to 2015. He also starred in feature films Eagle Eye, Grown Ups, and Grown Ups 2. He was also known for his role as Carlos in the three Descendants television films and for his lead role as Conor in Disney XD's comedy series Gamer's Guide to Pretty Much Everything. Boyce also did voice acting for various works, such as Jake in Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Herman Schultz in Spider-Man. On July 6, 2019, Boyce died at the age of 20 due to complications of epilepsy.

John Cutts was the jockey who at the age of 32 rode Archer, the winner of the first Melbourne Cup in 1861. The next day John rode Archer to win another long distance race, the Melbourne Town Plate. In May 1862 he rode Archer to win the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (ATC), and returned to Melbourne later that year to win his second Melbourne Cup. Due to a technical error which stopped Archer from being entered in the third (1863) Melbourne Cup, Cutt's was not able to attempt to win the hat-trick.
