The Filth Files is a New Zealand based documentary series that follows the work of a team of Public Health Officers. Each week the programme focuses on the work of a small number of officers as they visit businesses in the North Shore City district of Auckland. Over the course of the series a wide variety of businesses such as restaurants, takeaways, funeral parlours and massage parlours are inspected for their cleanliness.
The series is currently shown on Sky3 and Sky Real Lives, and was screened on TV2 in December 2010.

A chief executive officer (CEO), or just chief executive (CE), is the most senior corporate, executive, or administrative officer in charge of managing an organization – especially an independent legal entity such as a company or nonprofit institution. CEOs lead a range of organizations, including public and private corporations, non-profit organizations and even some government organizations. The CEO of a corporation or company typically reports to the board of directors and is charged with maximizing the value of the entity, which may include maximizing the share price, market share, revenues or another element. In the non-profit and government sector, CEOs typically aim at achieving outcomes related to the organization's mission, such as reducing poverty, increasing literacy, etc.
A parlour is a reception room or public space. In medieval Christian Europe, the "outer parlour" was the room where the monks or nuns conducted business with those outside the monastery and the "inner parlour" was used for necessary conversation between resident members. In the English-speaking world of the 18th and 19th century, having a parlour room was evidence of social status.

In areas where prostitution is illegal, massage parlors frequently act as front organizations for prostitution, as do establishments such as saunas and spas. The term massage parlor is typically used as a euphemism for a brothel and illegal brothels disguised as massage parlors are common in many countries.

The term massage parlour is used in the title of the books because the term massage is commonly used in Britain to euphemistically advertise sex work, soliciting prostitution being illegal in the country. McCoy has also written several other guides to sexual services in Britain and appeared in the media to discuss the country's sex industry.

Police Interceptors is a British factual programme that profiles the work of elite police units from across the UK. There have to date been 17 series following police units from Essex, South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Cumbria, Lincolnshire, Durham & Cleveland, Cheshire and West Yorkshire. Temporary Residence Limited is a Brooklyn, New York-based record label. TRL was started in Louisville, Kentucky in 1996 by Jeremy DeVine, and initially concentrated on releasing music by Louisville-based bands. DeVine moved to Baltimore, Maryland in the late 1990s to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art, but dropped out to concentrate on running the label by the end of the decade.
