Professional wrestling entertainment form that mimics contact sports

Professional wrestling is a form of performance art and entertainment that combines athletics with theatrical performance. It takes the form of events, held by touring companies, that mimic a title-match combat sport. The unique form of sport portrayed is fundamentally based on classical and "catch" wrestling, with modern additions of striking attacks, strength-based holds and throws and acrobatic maneuvers. Much of these derive from the influence of various international martial arts. An additional aspect of combat with improvised weaponry is sometimes included to varying degrees.

Combat Zone Wrestling American professional wrestling promotion

Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) is an American independent wrestling promotion. In 1998, John Zandig and five of his students, Ric Blade, T.C.K, Lobo, Nick Gage, and Justice Pain began to run professional wrestling shows in New Jersey and Delaware, showcasing a brand of hardcore wrestling dubbed as "ultraviolence". Ladders, tables, steel folding chairs, thumbtacks, barbed wire, weed whackers, light tubes, panes of glass, and fire are all common elements of "ultraviolent wrestling" in CZW. The company filled a niche for hardcore wrestling fans that had been left open by the folding of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). CZW established themselves as the leading American hardcore wrestling promotion at the ECW Arena with their Cage of Death 3 show in 2001, the year ECW folded.

History

The H8 Club has been around since the beginning of Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW). The original team was made up of Wifebeater, Justice Pain, Justin Kase, Ed O' Mac, and manager-mouthpiece Big Mac Smack. They feuded with many of the top stars in CZW, including Nick Gage, Zandig, Nick Mondo, and Lobo. On October 7, 2000, at Rules Were Made to be Broken, Wifebeater and Justice Pain defeated Nick Mondo and Ric Blade for the CZW Tag Team Championship. During this title reign, a new team was formed between Nick Gage and Nate Hatred who also called themselves the H8 Club. The two teams faced off at Payback and the new H8 Club won the tag team championship. The team of Gage and Hatred dominated tag team competition in CZW. The original H8 Club began having problems once they lost the titles. Justice Pain and Wifebeater started feuding with each other, which led to a Cage of Death match at Cage of Death III where Pain defeated Wifebeater. Justice Pain continued feuding with Gage and Hatred, but left CZW for XPW in 2003.

That night, Nate Hatred turned on Nick Gage and joined Messiah and the Hi-V. Gage and Hatred had a brutal feud which culminated at Cage of Death V in the Cage of Death match. Nick Gage joined Zandig's team to face Nate Hatred and Messiah's team. Hatred turned on Messiah and realigned with Gage. They quickly began dominating the tag team division once again and regained the tag championship from VD at the beginning of 2004. Later in 2004, Justice Pain returned to CZW. Justice Pain reformed the H8 Club with Wifebeater in an attempt to destroy Gage and Hatred. The two teams faced off in a Fans Bring the Weapons Cage of Death match at Cage of Death VI. At the end of the match, Nick Gage turned on Nate Hatred and allowed Justice Pain to get the pin.
