The Initiation is the fifth solo studio album by rapper, X-Raided. It was released on February 27, 2001 for his new label, Mad Man Records and featured production from X-Raided, Big Hollis and James "Razor" Brown. The Initiation made it to #39 on the Independent Albums chart.

Gangsta rap or gangster rap, initially called reality rap, is a subgenre of rap music that conveys the culture and values typical of urban gangs, reality of the world and street hustlers. Emerging in the late 1980s, gangsta rap's pioneers include Schoolly D of Philadelphia and Ice-T of Los Angeles, later expanding in California with artists such as N.W.A and Tupac Shakur. In 1992, via record producer and rapper Dr. Dre, rapper Snoop Dogg, and their G-funk sound, gangster rap broadened to mainstream popularity.
Artis Leon Ivey Jr., known by his stage name Coolio, was an American rapper. He was best known for his single "Gangsta's Paradise" (1995), which won a Grammy Award, and was credited for changing the course of hip hop by bringing it to a wider audience. Other singles included "Fantastic Voyage" (1994), "1, 2, 3, 4 " (1996), and "C U When U Get There" (1997). He released nine albums, the first three of which achieved mainstream success: It Takes a Thief (1994), Gangsta's Paradise (1995), and My Soul (1997). Coolio first achieved recognition as a member of the gangsta rap group WC and the Maad Circle. Coolio sold 4.8 million albums in the U.S.
Anerae Veshaughn Brown, better known by his stage name X-Raided, is an American rapper from Sacramento, California. In 1992, Brown was sentenced to 31 years in prison on murder charges, which Brown denied, maintaining his innocence. The lyrics of his debut album, Psycho Active, was submitted as evidence by the prosecutors. Subsequently, Brown continued to record rap songs in prison, until being released on parole 26 years into his sentence. He was later signed with Strange Music.
Monterrio Williams, better known by his stage names Luni Coleone or Lunasicc, is an American rapper who began his career on the streets of Sacramento, California.
Tyree Cinque Simmons, known professionally as DJ Drama, is an American disc jockey (DJ), record executive and music promoter. He initially gained recognition as the DJ for Atlanta-based rapper T.I., and continued to gain prominence hosting mixtapes for other hip hop artists. His trademark Gangsta Grillz series is present on releases of which he has compiled; it has been popularized by artists including Lil Wayne, Tyler the Creator, Snoop Dogg, Yo Gotti, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Fabolous, Jeezy, Meek Mill, and Gucci Mane, among others. Alongside record producer and fellow Philadelphia native Don Cannon, he co-founded the record label Generation Now in 2015, an imprint of Atlantic Records which has signed artists including Lil Uzi Vert and Jack Harlow.

The Pioneers is the debut collaboration album by American rappers MC Eiht and Spice 1. The album was released June 29, 2004, on Real Talk Entertainment. It peaked at number 71 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Spice 1 and MC Eiht also produced a second album together for Real Talk Entertainment, titled Keep It Gangsta, released in 2006.
Psycho Active is the debut solo album by American rapper X-Raided, released April 16, 1992 through Blackmarket Records. Before the album's release, X-Raided and four other individuals, all Crips, were arrested by the Sacramento Police Department for the killing of Patricia Harris, the mother of two Meadowview Bloods' members during a home invasion. Police maintained that the boys intended reprisal against Harris' sons for the killing of two Crips. The weapon that was used to kill Harris was never found, and X-Raided maintains that he is innocent. During the trial, the prosecution cited lyrics from Psycho Active as evidence, and X-Raided was sentenced to 31 years in prison. He was released on parole on September 14, 2018, after serving 26 years in prison.
The "Star Wars Gangsta Rap" is a parody song based on the original Star Wars trilogy. The song was later popularized as a Flash-animated music video and was the first winner of the Audience Choice Award in the Lucasfilm-sponsored Official Star Wars Fan Film Awards.
Reality Check is the second studio album by American rapper Seagram, released on May 31, 1994 via Rap-A-Lot Records and Priority Records. The album was produced entirely by Jeff Gray, Seagram and Troy White. It would be Seagram's last album during his lifetime. It peaked at number 53 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and at number 31 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers.

Full Circle is the seventh studio album from the reggae band Morgan Heritage. The album features guest appearances from Sizzla, Damian Marley and LMS. The band toured the Caribbean and the United States in support of the album. The album mixed reggae and other styles, and was described by the Jamaica Star as "the sound of Jamaican dancehall systems and New York hip-hop boom boxes and New England pop radio and California punk rock mosh pits, all fused into an unprecedented, harmonious whole". The album reached the top 15 of the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.
Gangsta's Paradise is the second studio album by American rapper Coolio, released on November 7, 1995. It is Coolio's best-selling album, with over two million copies sold in the United States. The album produced three singles, which became hits: the title track, "1, 2, 3, 4 ", and "Too Hot".

It was released on June 19, 2013 via Dilly Recordz and Bigg Swang Recordz. Production was handled by Rob Tee, Broadway, DJ 2High, Amplified, Beanz N Kornbread, Dae One, David Gold, DJ Battlecat, Kj Conteh, Kuddie Fresh, TJofthewest, The Arsonists, Touch Tone and Trippy Keez. It features guest appearances from Snoop Dogg and Butch Cassidy.
Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, known professionally as Gangsta Boo, was an American rapper. She rose to prominence as a member of Three 6 Mafia, which she joined at the age of 14. After releasing six albums, she left the group and its record label after the release of her second solo album, Both Worlds *69 (2001), due to financial disputes and issues regarding promotion of the album. She subsequently released several solo albums and became known for collaborating with artists such as Eminem, Run the Jewels, La Chat, Latto, GloRilla, Outkast, Foxy Brown, Tinashe, Lil Jon and Yelawolf.

A Gangsta's Pain is the fourth studio album by American rapper Moneybagg Yo. It was released on April 23, 2021, through Roc Nation, Collective Music Group, Bread Gang Entertainment, N-Less Entertainment, and Interscope Records. The album features guest appearances from Kaash Paige, Big30, Future, Tripstar, Polo G, Lil Durk, Jhené Aiko, and Pharrell Williams. The album debuted atop the US Billboard 200, earning 110,000 album-equivalent units, becoming Moneybagg Yo's first US number-one album.
