The Lebanese Movie Awards known as The LMAs, is an award ceremony recognizing the best Lebanese & International cinematic achievements in the film making industry. The LMAs honors these films both in their artistic and technical aspects with categories including Best Lebanese Motion Picture, Best Directing, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, among others.
The award was first presented in 2014, at Vox Cinemas, before finally moving in 2018 to The Casino Du Liban, a lush and luxurious venue hosting the ceremony so far. The LMAs is the first and only award ceremony for film in Lebanon.
The 5th edition of the LMAs was held on the 17th of April at The Casino Du Liban, with 7 films competing in major categories, The Insult by Ziad Doueiri came out as the big winner with 4 awards including Best Picture. Mahbass took home two awards for Best Soundtrack and Best Costume Design and Tramontane picked up the award for Best Director.

Jury Members are carefully selected each year, as the LMA cares to keep a track record of prestigious and esteemed figures voting for the nominated films. Each jury member would receive his voting ballot and will have a period of time to cast his votes and return his ballot. All jury members votes are kept confidential at all times.
Here's a few of the jury we've had across the years: Raya Abirached, Elias Doummar, Marie-There Maalouf, Amin Dora, Jassmina Najjar, Mahmoud Hojeij, Georges Khabbaz, Wissam Breidy as well as many others.
The Academy Awards, popularly known as the Oscars, are awards for artistic and technical merit in the film industry. They are regarded as one of the most significant and prestigious awards in the entertainment industry worldwide. The Guldbagge Awards is an official and annual Swedish film awards ceremony honoring achievements in the Swedish film industry. Winners are awarded a statuette depicting a rose chafer, better known by the name Guldbaggen. The FAMAS Awards, from 1952 to 1982, was the highest Filipino film award a filmmaker or artisan could receive in the local movie industry.

Philippe Aractingi is a film director and producer. He is known in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Although he was born in Beirut, Aractingi is Franco-Lebanese.
The Hundred Flowers Awards are together with the Golden Rooster Awards the most prestigious film awards in China; the Chinese equivalent of American Golden Globes. The awards were inaugurated by China Film Association in 1962 and sponsored by Popular Cinema (大众电影) magazine, which has the largest circulation in mainland China.
The Murex d'Or is a Lebanese award created by two Lebanese physicians, Zahi and Fadi Helou to recognize achievements in the domain of art in Lebanon, the Arab region and the world. The first Murex d'Or ceremony took place on June 4, 2000. The name of the award is a tribute to Phoenician Murex sea snails, which were used to dye cloth in imperial Tyrian purple.
A Magritte Award is an accolade presented by the Académie André Delvaux of Belgium to recognize cinematic achievement in the film industry. Modelled after the French César Award, the formal ceremony at which the awards are presented is one of the most prominent award ceremonies in Belgium. The various category winners are awarded a copy of a statuette. The awards, first presented in 2011, are considered the Belgian equivalent of the Academy Awards in the United States.

The 66th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards was an awarding ceremony given by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS), an organization composed of prize-winning writers and movie columnists, giving recognition to the Philippine mainstream and independent films, actors, actresses, directors and production staffs for their achievements in the year 2017. The awards night is also produced by Ms. Donna B. Sanchez of Megavision Integrated Resources.
The Ensor Award is an accolade presented by the Ensor Academy of Belgium to recognize cinematic achievement in the film industry and is the highest film honour in the Flemish speaking part of the country. Named after James Ensor, it is the successor of the Joseph Plateau Award that honoured films from the entire country. Since its discontinuation, the Magritte Awards are given to French speaking movies, while the Ensors honour Flemish productions.
