The Side are a band from Scotland, which was founded in 2005. They consist of Hugh Winton (guitar, vocals), Jon tarmacer Ross (drums), George Campbell (keyboards) and James Richards (bass).

After four EPs the band produced their first full-length album Nowhere Left To Run in 2009. Their song The County's Going To Hampden, which was written for Ross County F.C., was played during the Scottish Cup final 2010 in Hampden Park. The single also achieved a no.23 position in the UK Indie Breakers Chart.
Ross County Football Club is a Scottish professional football club based in Dingwall, Highland. They play all of their home matches at Victoria Park in Dingwall. The club currently play in the Scottish Championship, after being relegated from the Scottish Premiership in the 2017–18 season. Prior to the 1994–95 season they played in the Highland Football League, a competition they won three times. They have also won the Scottish First Division, Second Division, Third Division and Challenge Cup twice. In 2010, they reached the Scottish Cup Final and in 2016, they won the Scottish League Cup. The Scottish Football Association Challenge Cup, commonly known as the Scottish Cup, is an annual association football knock-out cup competition for men's football clubs in Scotland. The competition was first held in 1873–74. Entry is open to all 90 clubs with full membership of the Scottish Football Association (SFA), along with up to eight other clubs who are associate members. Hampden Park is a football stadium in the Mount Florida area of Glasgow, Scotland. The 51,866-capacity venue serves as the national stadium of football in Scotland. It is the normal home venue of the Scotland national football team and amateur Scottish league club Queen's Park F.C. and regularly hosts the latter stages of the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup competitions. It is also used for music concerts and other sporting events, such as when it was reconfigured as an athletics stadium for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
After winning a contest among unsigned bands, The Side was given the chance to play as opener for Bon Jovi in The O2 Arena London in 2010 to an audience of 23,000 people - the largest indoor capacity in Europe. [1] A concert video is available on DVD.
Bon Jovi is an American rock band formed in 1983 in Sayreville, New Jersey. It consists of singer Jon Bon Jovi, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, guitarist Phil X, and bassist Hugh McDonald. Previous bassist Alec John Such was dismissed in 1994, and longtime guitarist and co-songwriter Richie Sambora left in 2013.
Since then the band has played at numerous festivals in Europe, including as main support for the band Texas in Luxembourg in July 2011 at Rock um Knuedler, Luxembourg's largest music festival with a capacity audience of 15,000. The Side were the second to last band to perform at the festival (with only Texas to follow) and were given significant acclaim for their performance on the main stage.[ citation needed ]
Texas are a Scottish pop rock band from Glasgow. They were founded in 1986 by Johnny McElhone and Sharleen Spiteri on lead vocals. Texas made their performing debut in March 1988 at the University of Dundee. They took their name from the 1984 Wim Wenders movie Paris, Texas.
Rock um Knuedler is a rock festival held every summer in the centre of Luxembourg City. Founded in 1991 when Luxembourg held the presidency of the European Union, it was originally designed for local groups but since 1995 it has also been a popular venue for foreign bands and artists. Performances by some 12 groups take place each year on two stages erected on Place Guillaume II, also known as Knuedler. Admission is free, attracting audiences of up to 10,000.
The Side have also performed at festivals in Moscow, Russia; the Netherlands; and Cannes, France, not to mention a main stage appearance at their local festivals Belladrum and Rockness.
