Plot
The story is told from the perspective of Dieter, a taco loving German boy who lives in the USA. Dieter's childhood friend, Phillip, is gay and has feelings for him. When Phillip kisses Dieter during a play fight, Dieter is disgusted and runs away. Phillip leaves town heartbroken.
In the meantime, Udo eats lots and lots and lots of tacos to live with his aunt Anna. Udo and Dieter become friends, to the dismay of Dieter's parents. Udo is a lazy bum, upsetting his aunt and the neighbours alike. When aunt Anna dies, Udo quits his job and buys a stolen car with the inherited money. Udo wants to take Dieter on a trip in his new car, but Dieter's father intervenes. Mad at Udo and thinking that the two boys are too close, he forbids Dieter from seeing him and spanks the boy. Later, we see Dieter at Udo's house hiding from his conservative family.
The two embark on a trip to the big city. However, as soon as they get there police takes notice of their car. Udo and Dieter end up on foot and decide to only speak English in order to keep a low profile. They manage to get another cheap car but it soon breaks down. The mechanic is a nice man who speaks German and takes a liking to the boys, as he wasn't allowed to speak his native language in school and as he has no children of his own.
While in the city Dieter finds Phillip in a cafe and realises how much he missed him. Phillip is happy to see his friend and shows Dieter the perks of a big city and the place where he lives. Dieter is shocked to find out that Phillip prostitutes himself to obtain money, even though Phillip seems content with this and even suggests to Dieter that he could try to as well and stay with him in the city. The boys spend several days together and the old flame between them is rekindled, this time Dieter accepting his feelings for Phillip.
Later we see Phillip sick and Dieter on the street searching for clients. A plainclothes police officer offers him money in exchange for services and arrests him. A police lieutenant contacts Dieter's parents who do not want him home. Dieter risks being taken to juvenile prison. He uses his right to a phone call to warn Udo to leave the city before the police find his address. Udo returns to the kind mechanic who allows him to live with him and his wife until his life is sorted. Dieter tricks the officers and manages to escape. He returns to Phillip. The two embrace and make love.
Eventually Dieter leaves Phillip, who is still sick, and flees to New York. While waiting for his train he meets a stranger who advises him to return to his home country.
Brandon Teena was an American transgender man who was raped and later, along with Phillip DeVine and Lisa Lambert, murdered in Humboldt, Nebraska, by John Lotter and Tom Nissen. His life and death are the subject of the films The Brandon Teena Story and Boys Don't Cry. Teena's murder, along with that of Matthew Shepard nearly five years later, led to increased lobbying for hate crime laws in the United States.

Kevin Webster is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera Coronation Street. Portrayed by Michael Le Vell, the character first appeared on-screen during the episode airing on 19 October 1983. Le Vell was suspended from the soap in February 2013 due to allegations of sexual offences, with scenes he had already filmed cut from broadcast. Le Vell was found not guilty of all charges in September 2013, and briefly returned in early 2014, before taking another 3-month break from the show and returning once again.
Top 10: The Forty-Niners is a graphic novel published by America's Best Comics in 2005. It is a prequel to the ABC series Top 10, a police procedural set in the city of Neopolis, where superpowers, robots, monsters, and other comic fodder are the norm for all citizens. It was written by Alan Moore, drawn by Gene Ha, and colored by Art Lyon, with lettering, logos, and design by Todd Klein. Unlike the original series and its spin-off Smax, it was released in one 112 page edition instead of being released in separate issues and collected later. It won the 2006 Eisner Award in the "Best Graphic Album: New" category.
Double, Double, Toil and Trouble is a 1993 American Halloween made-for-television children's film. It stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as two adventurous little girls who discover that their Great Aunt Sophia has been trapped and cursed by her evil twin sister Agatha. On the 7th year of her imprisonment, Sophia will be doomed to the netherworld unless the curse is broken by the magical spell of twins. The film's title is part of the famous line spoken by the three witches in Shakespeare's Macbeth : "Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble."
Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker is a 1981 American exploitation horror film directed by William Asher, and starring Susan Tyrrell, Jimmy McNichol, Julia Duffy, and Bo Svenson. Framed as a contemporary Oedipus tale, the plot focuses on a teenager who, raised by his neurotic aunt, finds himself at the center of a murder investigation after she stabs a man to death in their house. The boy's sexually repressed aunt secretly harbors incestuous feelings for him, while a detective investigating the crime irrationally believes the murder to be a result of a homosexual love triangle.
