Plot
Phillip and Dieter nearly suffocate hiding their gay sexual identity in the face of puritanical small town Midwestern U.S. values. Joined by a mysterious German relative, the three misfits escape to the big city searching for a place to belong.
The story is told from the perspective of Dieter, a 16 year old German boy who lives in USA. Dieter's childhood friend, Phillip, is gay and has feelings for him. One day while having a play fight on the side of a creek, Phillip kisses Dieter. Dieter responds by being disgusted and runs away, which makes Phillip leave town heartbroken. In the meantime, Udo moves from Germany to USA to live with his aunt Anna. Udo and Dieter become friends, to the dismay of Dieter's parents. Udo is shown to be a lazy bum, upsetting his aunt and the neighbours alike. When aunt Anna dies, Udo quits his job and buys a stolen car with the inherited money. Udo wants to take Dieter on a trip in his new car, but Dieter's father intervenes. Mad at Udo and thinking that the two boys are too close, he forbids Dieter from seeing him and spanks the boy. Later, we see Dieter at Udo's house hiding from his conservative family. The two boys decide to embark on a trip to the big city, however as soon as they get there police takes notice of their car. Udo and Dieter end up on foot and decide to only speak English so as to not spark interest among city people. They manage to get another cheap car but it breaks down soon. The mechanic is a nice man who speaks German and takes a liking to the boys, as he wasn't allowed to speak his native language in school and as he has no children of his own. While in the city Dieter find Phillip in a cafe and realises how much he missed him. Phillip is happy to see his friend and shows Dieter the perks of a big town, together with the place where he lives. Dieter is shocked to find out that Phillip prostitutes himself to obtain money, even though Phillip seems content with this and even suggests to Dieter that he could try to as well and stay with him in the city. The boys spend days together and the old flame between them reappears, this time Dieter accepting his feelings for Phillip. Later we see Phillip sick and Dieter on the street searching for clients. Unbeknownst to him, a police officer offers him money in exchange for services and arrests him. At the police station, the lieutenant contacts Dieter's parents who do not want him home. Dieter risks being taken to juvenile prison. He uses his right for a phone call to call Udo and warn him to leave the city before police forces find his address. Udo returns to the kind mechanic whom allows him to live with him and his wife until his life is sorted. Dieter tricks the officers into showing them the address and manages to escape and return to Phillip. The two embrace and make love. On final, Dieter leaves Phillip, who is still sick, and flees to New York. While waiting for his train he meets a stranger who gives him advice to return to his motherland. The two play tables in the train station as the end credits roll.

In 2009, William Winckler Productions produced two all-new English-dubbed movie versions edited from the original series. Producer William Winckler, known for Tekkaman: The Space Knight, wrote, produced and directed the English films, which are seen on broadband in Japan. A manga version, written by Izumi Todo and drawn by Yui Ayumi, was serialized by Kodansha in the manga magazine Nakayoshi from March 2003 to February 2004, and collected in two bound volumes.

Kevin Webster is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera Coronation Street. Portrayed by Michael Le Vell, the character first appeared on-screen during the episode airing on 19 October 1983. Le Vell was suspended from the soap in February 2013 due to allegations of sexual offences, with scenes he had already filmed cut from broadcast. Le Vell was found not guilty of all charges in September 2013, and briefly returned in early 2014, before taking another 3-month break from the show and returning once again.

Entertainment, Inc., Future Films Limited, Comet Film, and Thema Production and is distributed by Warner Bros. The DVD was released on 14 March 2006 and the one-disc edition includes a theatrical trailer that ran in theatres in Europe and Mosca's cartoon from the film by itself.
Sonny Valentine is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Aaron Fontaine. The role was initially played by Devon Anderson until 2007 when producer Bryan Kirkwood fired Anderson. In 2014, the role was recast when Kirkwood decided to reintroduce the character. On 12 November 2014, Sonny was killed off in a train explosion along with Carmel McQueen, when Carmel rescued her cousin Theresa McQueen from Sonny.

Tisdel is an American woman whose early life and involvement with the December 1993 murders of Brandon Teena, Lisa Lambert, and Phillip DeVine at the hands of John Lotter and Tom Nissen is chronicled in the 1998 documentary The Brandon Teena Story and the 1999 film Boys Don't Cry. She was portrayed in the film by Chloë Sevigny, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance.

The Gladbeck hostage crisis or Gladbeck hostage drama was a bank robbery and hostage-taking that took place in West Germany from 16 to 18 August 1988. Two men with prior criminal records – Hans-Jürgen Rösner and Dieter Degowski – robbed a branch of the Deutsche Bank in Gladbeck, North Rhine-Westphalia, taking two employees as hostages. During their flight, they were joined by Rösner's girlfriend Marion Löblich, with whom they hijacked a public transport bus in Bremen. With twenty-seven hostages aboard, they drove towards the Netherlands, where all but two hostages were released, and the bus was exchanged for a getaway car. The hostage-taking was finally ended when the police rammed the getaway car on the A3 motorway near Bad Honnef, North Rhine-Westphalia.

Franklin began filming in August 2017, and he made his first appearance during the episode broadcast on 6 February 2018. The character was introduced as a replacement for Kat Chapman, who died in the season finale, and his arrival was publicised in a trailer showcasing upcoming 2018 storylines.
