Similar to its predecessor The Woman in Me (1995), Twain entirely collaborated with producer and then-husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange. With both having busy schedules, the two often wrote apart and later intertwined their ideas. Twain sought to improve her songwriting skills and write a conversational album that reflected her personality and beliefs. The resulting songs explore themes of romance and female empowerment addressed with humor.
"Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" is a song by Irish rock band U2. It is the second track on their tenth studio album, All That You Can't Leave Behind (2000), and was released as the album's second single on 29 January 2001. In This Moment is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed by singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth in 2005. They found drummer Jeff Fabb and started the band as Dying Star. Unhappy with their musical direction, they changed their name to In This Moment and gained two band members, guitarist Blake Bunzel and bassist Josh Newell. In 2005, bassist Newell left the band and was replaced by Jesse Landry.

It garnered positive reviews from music critics who praised Stansfield's voice and the fact that an established artist like her is still evolving and experimenting. The recording process of the song was draining for Oh Land, who requested breaks during sessions to recover emotionally. It is a stripped-down chamber pop song with a piano-led production. Bartlett, Zukanovic, and Hungarian musician Peter Pejtsik all perform piano on the song.

During this time, the lineup included bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White, singer Benoît David, and keyboardist Oliver Wakeman. Wakeman, who wrote most of the material on From a Page, was inspired to release it following Squire's death in 2015.
