Thomas Bullock (born Cambridge, England) is a British musician and former member of the electroclash group A.R.E. Weapons.
In the late 1980s Bullock joined the group Tonka, alongside DJ Harvey. In 1991 he moved to San Francisco and joined the Wicked Sound System with Markie, Jeno, and DJ Garth, and produced downtempo music as Mammal. He also made a psychedelic album under the name Supergroup, with Charles Uzzell Edwards.
In 1996 he moved to New York City and started A.R.E. Weapons, an early electroclash group. He left the group a few years later to start the Rub N Tug parties, a Balearic rock band with DJ Harvey called Map of Africa, and a punk project called Bobbie Marie. He also produced house music as Mirror Boys for DJ Garth's Grayhound label in San Francisco, and performed re-edits as Otterman Empire for Whatever We Want Records in NY.[ citation needed ]
Starting in 2011 Bullock started a mezcal import business in London called Spirit Bear, and started an improvised musical ensemble with the same name.[ citation needed ]
House is a genre of electronic dance music characterized by a repetitive four-on-the-floor beat and a typical tempo of 120-130 beats per minute as a re-emergence of 1970s disco. It was created by DJs and music producers from Chicago's underground club culture and evolved slowly in the early/mid 1980s as DJs began altering disco songs to give them a more mechanical beat. By early 1988, House became mainstream and supplanted the typical 80s music beat.
Jefferson Airplane was an American rock band based in San Francisco, California, that became one of the pioneering bands of psychedelic rock. Formed in 1965, the group defined the San Francisco Sound and was the first from the Bay Area to achieve international commercial success. They headlined the Monterey Pop Festival (1967), Woodstock (1969), Altamont Free Concert (1969), and the first Isle of Wight Festival (1968) in England. Their 1967 breakout album Surrealistic Pillow was one of the most significant recordings of the Summer of Love. Two songs from that album, "Somebody to Love" and "White Rabbit", are among Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Songs of All Time".
Electroclash is a genre of popular music that fuses 1980s electro, new wave and synth-pop with 1990s techno, retro-style electropop and electronic dance music. It emerged in the late 1990s and was pioneered by and associated with acts such as I-F, DJ Hell, Miss Kittin and The Hacker, and Fischerspooner.

Avenue D was an American electroclash duo from Miami, Florida. Based in New York City, the duo consisted of Debbie D. and Daphne D.. They were protégés of Larry Tee, and performed for his parties. Their music is an energetic, humorous and sexually explicit mix of hip hop, electro, and new wave.
Robert Thomas Freeman was an American rock, soul and R&B singer, songwriter and record producer from San Francisco, best known for his two Top Ten hits, the first in 1958 on Josie Records called "Do You Want to Dance" and the second in 1964 for Autumn Records, "C'mon and Swim".

The Hungry I was a nightclub in San Francisco, California, originally located in the North Beach neighborhood. It played a major role in the history of stand-up comedy in the United States. It was launched by Eric "Big Daddy" Nord, who sold it to Enrico Banducci in 1951. The club moved to Ghirardelli Square in 1967 and operated mostly as a rock music venue until it closed in 1970.

Hardkiss is the group moniker of San Francisco electronic music pioneers Scott, Gavin, and Robbie Hardkiss. The trio formed a record label called Hardkiss Music in San Francisco in 1991. Initially promoting underground raves and dance parties where they would DJ, with Hardkiss Music they began to produce and release a catalog of vinyl records which stirred international recognition and launched DJ and production careers. Scott Hardkiss worked under the pseudonym God Within. Gavin Hardkiss works under the pseudonym Hawke. Robbie Hardkiss has worked under the pseudonym Little Wing. They also released music by a myriad of other artists including Rabbit in the Moon, Symbiosis and TTauri. Their music started as a mixture of acid house music, trance music, and breakbeat techno. Hardkiss Music became a blueprint for DJ owned boutique record labels.
