Holm was born and raised in Kjellerup and was a graduate student in Political Science at the University of Copenhagen when he began his musical career.

The Nekromantix is a Danish-American psychobilly band founded in Copenhagen in 1989. Their lyrics are generally structured around monster and horror themes. Deep Forest is a French music project that originally began as a duo consisting of Michel Sanchez and Éric Mouquet. Scenes of Bohemian Life is a work by Henri Murger, published in 1851. Although it is commonly called a novel, it does not follow standard novel form. Most of the stories were originally published individually in a local literary magazine, Le Corsaire.
