Tim Burke (born October 13, 1986) is an American golfer who competes as a professional long drive athlete. [1] He has won the World Long Drive Championship on two occasions, in 2013 and 2015. [2]
Burke lives in Orlando, Florida.
Prior to taking part in his first World Long Drive competition in 2009, Burke was a pitcher at the University of Miami, [3] where he took part in the College World Series in 2008.
Burke is a two-time Volvik World Long Drive champion, capturing his first championship belt at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2013, where hitters struck tee shots from the stands with balls landing in the grid on the track infield below. He beat fellow two-time world champion Joe Miller in the finals. In 2015, Burke claimed his second world title at WinStar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma, defeating Jeremy Easterly in the finals. [3] He also made an in-studio appearance on The Dan Patrick Show following his world title win in 2015. [4] Burke also was featured on an episode of Golf Channel’s Playing Lessons instruction series in 2018, alongside show host and renowned instructor Sean Foley. Burke also was featured in the April 2018 issue of Muscle & Fitness magazine.
James Michael Furyk is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions. In 2010, he was the FedEx Cup champion and PGA Tour Player of the Year. He has won one major championship, the 2003 U.S. Open. Elijah Samuel Burke is an American professional wrestler also known under the ring names "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero and Da Pope. He currently wrestles for the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) as "Da Pope" Elijah Burke, where he is a former World Television Champion. He started his pro-wrestling career in 2003, working for World Wrestling Entertainment, first competing in their developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling and later on their main roster from 2006 to 2008. While in WWE he would occasionally do commentary during events, but was primarily used as a wrestler, especially as part of The New Breed stable. Burke was the final opponent of fellow pro-wrestler Chris Benoit, who defeated Burke just days prior to his two murders and suicide.
Bradley Raymond Gushue, ONL is a Canadian curler from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Gushue, along with teammates Russ Howard, Mark Nichols, Jamie Korab and Mike Adam, represented Canada in curling at the 2006 Winter Olympics, where they won the gold medal by defeating Finland 10–4. He also represented Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics, where he won a bronze medal. In addition to the Olympics, Gushue won the 2017 World Men's Curling Championship with teammates Mark Nichols, Brett Gallant, and Geoff Walker. He is a record six-time Brier champion skip, having won in 2017, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024 all with Nichols, Gallant and Walker, except for 2023 and 2024 with E. J. Harnden replacing Gallant. Their win in 2017 was Newfoundland and Labrador's first Brier title in 41 years. At the 2018 Tim Hortons Brier, Gushue set a new record for Brier game wins as a skip, breaking a three-way tie with previous record-holders Russ Howard and Kevin Martin.
