Jyu-Oh-Sei is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Natsumi Itsuki. The manga was first serialized in Hakusensha's monthly shōjo manga magazine, LaLa in December 1993. Several chapters of the series were serialized in Hakusensha's other bi-monthly shōjo manga magazine, Melody. The chapters released were then collected into five tankōbon volumes and later re-released into three kanzenban volumes. It was licensed and released in English in North America by Tokyopop, with translations by Yuya Otake and English adaptation by Clint Bickham.

Barclay Tagg is an American Thoroughbred horse trainer. Tagg graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Animal Husbandry in 1961. Tagg is best known for conditioning Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Jockey Club Gold Cup winner Funny Cide. Horses in Tagg's stable have included Tiz the Law, Showing Up, and Nobiz Like Shobiz.

Mr Tiz was a champion New Zealand thoroughbred racehorse. He is best known for his three consecutive wins in the Railway Stakes at Ellerslie, the country's premier sprint race for thoroughbreds. Mr Tiz remains the only horse to have achieved this feat. Furthermore, he also won New Zealand's other major sprint race, the Telegraph Handicap on two occasions.
