2008 Memorial Cup

The 2008 Memorial Cup was played in May 2008 in Kitchener, Ontario at the Memorial Auditorium. It was the 90th annual Memorial Cup competition and determined the major junior ice hockey champion of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). Kitchener defeated competing bids from Oshawa, Saginaw, London, Sarnia and Kingston to host the Memorial Cup, with the official announcement being made on May 10, 2007. The tournament was competed between the WHL champion Spokane Chiefs, the QMJHL champion Gatineau Olympiques, the Kitchener Rangers as host of the tournament and OHL champions, and the OHL representative Belleville Bulls, who earned their place by reaching the OHL finals against Kitchener. The Memorial Cup tournament is a four team tournament with a round-robin format.

Maja Tokarska is a female Polish volleyball player, a member of Poland women's national volleyball team and Polish club PGE Atom Trefl Sopot, bronze medalist of European League and silver medalist of European Games, Polish Champion (2012), Winner of Polish Cup (2013,2015), Winner of Polish Supercup (2013), Japanese League Championship runner-up (2017) and Japanese League Cup Winner (2017).

The 2016–17 Polish Cup in women's football was the 33rd edition of the competition. Medyk Konin won its fifth title in a row after defeating Górnik Łęczna in the final, like in the two previous editions, but this time by a narrower 2–1 scoreline.

Genowefa Tokarska, née Bzdyra is a Polish politician who currently serves as a member of the Sejm, a position she has held since 2011. Born in Biszcza, she graduated from the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, then the Lublin Agricultural Academy, and in 1989 graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics. After graduating from Lublin, she became a teacher at an agricultural school in Różaniec from 1972 to 1978, then worked at a bank in Księżpol, serving as its director from 1981 to 1990.

Joanna Tokarska-Bakir is a Polish cultural anthropologist, literary scholar, and religious studies scholar. She is a full professor and chair of the ethnic and national relations study at the Polish Academy of Sciences's Institute of Slavic Studies. She specializes in blood libel, historical anthropology and in particular violence, and Holocaust ethnography.

The twelfth series of Warsaw Shore, a Polish television programme based in Warsaw, Poland was announced on July 2019 and began airing on 22 September 2019. The series was filmed in Mielno, making this the second series to be filmed there following the sixth series in 2016. This is the first series not to include two former cast members Klaudia "Czaja" Czajkowska and Klaudia Stec who had quit the show after the previous series and the first to include six new cast members Hungarian celebrity Gábor "Gabo" Szabó, Joanna Bałdys, Paweł Hałabuda, Anna Tokarska, Radosław "Diva" Majchrowski and Sasha Muzheiko, who had previously appeared on the sixth series of Top Model. The series also featured the brief return of Jakub Henke and Wojciech Gola. This was the final series to include cast member Damian "Stifler" Zduńczyk following his decision to quit. It was also later announced that this would be Anna "Mała" Aleksandrzak's last series.
