Tony Jones is an American basketball coach and former player. He is currently an assistant coach for the Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball program. He had most recently served as interim head coach for the Windsor Express of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL).
Jones attended Southwestern High School in Detroit, Michigan. He earned All-City honors as a basketball player and became known as the team's star. He attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he garnered All-Conference accolades. Jones later attended Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Jones began coaching basketball in 1986, when he returned to his alma mater to direct the Detroit Southwestern basketball program. He served as an assistant for the varsity team and the head coach for the junior varsity team. At Southwestern, Jones had experience working with the likes of Jalen Rose, Howard Eisley, and Voshon Lenard. He led them to a USA Today mythical national championship in 1991.
Later on, he began coaching Team AAU Michigan, a post that he would hold until 1993, when he secured an assistant coaching position at the University at Buffalo. Jones moved on to Toledo University in 1996 and then the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in 2001. At Milwaukee, he coached his first games with Bruce Pearl, who he would stick with when he coached at the University of Tennessee and Auburn University, whom he would join in 2005 and 2014 respectively.
On July 14, 2015, Jones assumed his position as interim head coach with the Express following the suspension of original coach, his brother Bill Jones, in the midst of the 2015 NBL Canada Finals brawl.Tony said, "[Bill and I] haven't been together for a year in over 25 years. Either I was coaching collegiately, he was playing professionally at different levels, or he was coaching." Jones coached the Express for 20 games and a 10–10 record until his brother's suspension was lifted. Jones remained as assistant coach for the rest of the season.
Jones was hired as assistant coach for the Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team for the 2017–18 season.He replaced assistant Cornell Mann who left the program to become assistant coach at Missouri.
Jones is the brother of Bill Jones, a former National Basketball Association (NBA) player for the New Jersey Nets. Tony replaced Bill for a portion of one season as the coach of the Windsor Express in 2015.

Athletics Center O'rena is a 4,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Auburn Hills, Michigan. It is home to the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball teams. The court has a distinctive "blacktop" color first used in the 2015–16 season.

He served as the head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers and general manager of the Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves. As general manager of the Pistons, McCloskey assembled the team that would become known as the "Bad Boys" that won NBA championships in 1989 and 1990.

George Melvin "Jud" Heathcote was an American basketball player and coach. He was a college basketball head coach for 24 seasons: five at the University of Montana (1971–1976) and nineteen at Michigan State University (1976–1995). Heathcote coached Magic Johnson during his two years at Michigan State, concluding with the 1979 national championship season. He also coached the University of Montana to a national handball championship in 1974.

Kampe is the third longest-tenured Division I head coach, behind Jim Boeheim and Mike Krzyzewski. Oakland last played in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament in 2011.
Kelly Williams is a Filipino-American former professional basketball player. He played collegiate basketball at Oakland University, an NCAA Division I school in the United States, and he also represented the Philippines in international competitions.
The 2007–08 Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team represented Oakland University in the 2007–08 college basketball season. Oakland was coached by Greg Kampe and played their home games at the Athletics Center O'rena. The Golden Grizzlies finished the season 17–14 overall and 11–7 in The Summit League. Oakland advanced to the semi-finals of The Summit League Tournament before falling to Indiana–Purdue Indianapolis 80–65.

The 2015 NBL Canada Finals was the championship series of the 2014–15 National Basketball League of Canada season and the conclusion of the season's playoffs. The Central Conference champions Windsor Express controversially won the title after Atlantic Conference champions Halifax Rainmen forfeited Game 7. The Finals began on April 15, and ended on April 30. The Express claimed their second straight title, and Kirk Williams was named Finals MVP.
The 2015–16 NBL Canada season was the fifth season of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC). The regular season began on December 26, 2015 and concluded on April 30, 2016. There were 40 total games played by each team, eight more than the previous year. The new expansion Niagara River Lions team are competing in their first season. The Halifax Hurricanes also began play, replacing the defunct Halifax Rainmen. During the offseason, the Mississauga Power folded to make way for Raptors 905 of the NBA Development League. Prior to the season, the league also enforced new policies to help improve its standard, including rules regarding sportsmanship, addressing the brawl that ended the 2015 NBL Canada Finals. The first regular season game featured the Island Storm and the Saint John Mill Rats.
Adrian Moss is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Windsor Express of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL). Born in Centralia, Illinois, he played high school basketball for Franklin Community High School. Following his graduation, he committed to IUPUI to play college basketball. After his sophomore season at IUPUI he transferred to the University of Indianapolis, where he played for two more seasons.
The 2015 NBL Canada Finals brawl was an altercation that occurred prior to Game 7 of the year's National Basketball League of Canada (NBL) Finals, between the Windsor Express and Halifax Rainmen on April 30, 2015. It led to the Rainmen's forfeit of the deciding game and allowed the Express to win the championship by default. Windsor's guard Tony Bennett, who participated in the brawl, said, "It's a black eye not just for the league, but for basketball."
The 2016–17 Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team represented Oakland University (OU) during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Golden Grizzlies were led by 33rd year head coach Greg Kampe and played their home games at the Athletics Center O'rena in Rochester, Michigan as members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 25–9, 14–4 in Horizon League play to finish in a share for the Horizon League regular season championship. As the No. 1 seed, they were upset in the Quarterfinals of the Horizon League Tournament by Youngstown State. As a conference champion and No. 1 seed who failed to win their conference tournament, they received an automatic bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Clemson in the first round to advance to the second round where they lost to Richmond.

He played college baseball at Florida Southern for coaches Pete Meyer and Jim Tyrrell from 2008 to 2011 before playing in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) for 2 seasons from 2011 to 2012. He then served as the head coach of Oakland Golden Grizzlies (2017–2020).
