The Union Cycliste Internationale is the world governing body for sports cycling and oversees international competitive cycling events. The UCI is based in Aigle, Switzerland.
The UCI ProTour was a series of road bicycle races in Europe, Australia and Canada organised by the UCI. Created by Hein Verbruggen, former president of the UCI, it comprises a number of 'ProTour' cycling teams, each of whom are required to compete in every round of the series. It was initially the basis of a season long competition for rankings points, created for 2005 to replace the UCI Road World Cup series, which ended at the end of the 2004 season. The ProTour was the subject of continuing disputes involving the UCI, cycling teams, and the organizers of the world's most prominent bicycle races, and in 2009 and 2010 the ranking element of the ProTour was superseded by the UCI World Ranking. For 2011, the ProTour and World Ranking were fully merged into the UCI World Tour. ProTour status for teams – relabelled UCI ProTeams – will continue as the highest level of registration, and will carry the right and obligation to participate in all World Tour races.
The Herald Sun Tour is an Australian professional bicycle race held in Melbourne and provincial Victoria, sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The first tour was held in October 1952 as a six-day event. It is now held annually over five days in February. It is named after the Herald Sun, Melbourne's only daily tabloid newspaper. It was originally known as the Sun Tour after The Sun News-Pictorial, and changed its name when The Sun News-Pictorial merged with The Herald in 1990.
The Tour de Pologne, official abbreviation TdP, is a road bicycle racing stage race. It consists of seven or eight stages and is usually around 1,200 km in length. The race was first held in 1928. Until 1952 the race was held sporadically, but since then it has been an annual race. Until early 1993 the race was open to amateur cyclists only and most of its winners came from Poland.
The Tour of California is an annual professional cycling stage race on the UCI World Tour and USA Cycling Professional Tour. It is the only event on the top-level World Tour in the United States. It was first held in 2006. The eight-day race covers 650–700 miles (1,045–1,126 km) through the U.S. state of California.
Gregory Henderson is a New Zealand former professional track and road racing cyclist who last rode for UnitedHealthcare. His career includes winning the 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) scratch race at the 2004 world championships and, in road cycling, winning the points competition at the 2005 Tour de Georgia. He repeated this feat in 2008. He rode in five Olympic Games and completed 11 Grand Tours. He also competed in four Commonwealth Games and was a four-time medallist, including winning gold in the points race in 2002. During an important part of his career, he served as André Greipel's main lead-out man, and they have been colleagues at both T-Mobile Team and later Lotto–Soudal. In 2007, he rode for T-Mobile Team.
Beatrix "Trixi" Worrack is a German professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Team Trek–Segafredo.
Giorgia Bronzini is an Italian professional racing cyclist. She was born in Piacenza. She won the women's road race in the UCI Road World Championships in both 2010 and 2011 and the women's points race in the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in 2009. She has taken a total of 80 victories on the road and the track, including stages of the Giro Rosa, the Route de France Féminine, the Tour of Qatar, the Tour of California, and the Tour of Chongming Island. After a 16-year career, in August 2018 Bronzini announced that she would retire at the end of the season and become a directeur sportif with Trek Bicycle Corporation's new women's team in 2019.
The Tour of Qatar was an annual professional cycling stage race held in Qatar. First organized in 2002, the event was part of the UCI Asia Tour until 2016. The 2017 edition was to have seen the event upgraded to the UCI World Tour for the first time, but it was cancelled due to lack of sponsorship support.

Kirsten Carlijn Wild is a Dutch professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Team WNT–Rotor Pro Cycling. Wild competed in two track cycling events at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Charlotte Becker is a German professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Team FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the women's road race, but finished over the time limit. She also competed on the track in the women's team pursuit for the national team. She signed for Team Hitec Products for the 2015 road cycling season.
Cameron Meyer is an Australian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Mitchelton–Scott.
Linda Melanie Villumsen Serup is a Danish-born road racing cyclist, who last rode for UCI Women's Team Team Virtu Cycling. Villumsen became a New Zealand citizen in 2009 and has ridden under a Kiwi licence from 2010.
The UCI WorldTour is the premier men's elite road cycling tour, sitting above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. It refers to both the tour of 38 events and, until 2019, an annual ranking system based upon performances in these. The World Ranking was launched in 2009, and merged fully with its predecessor the UCI ProTour in 2011. UCI WorldTeams must compete at all events that were part of the tour prior to the 2017 expansion.
The Tour of the Gila is a cycling stage race for both men and women located in New Mexico, United States. It is sponsored by the component maker SRAM. The "Gila" began in 1987. Beginning in 2012, the men's Gila has been added to the UCI America Tour as a UCI classification 2.2 stage race, which permits UCI ProTeams to enter if they so choose; beginning in 2015, the women's Gila has also been added to the women's UCI international tour as a UCI classification 2.2 stage race.
Jolien D'Hoore is a Belgian track and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Team Boels–Dolmans. D'Hoore is a 29-time national track champion as well as a four-time national road champion at all competition levels. She won the bronze medal in the omnium at the 2016 Olympics and is one of the strongest sprinters in the women's peloton.
Regan Gough is a New Zealand professional racing cyclist. He rode at the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships where he won gold in the team pursuit. He was first on stage two of the 2014 Tour de Vineyards. At the 2014 UCI Juniors Track World Championships he won the madison and points race junior titles. Alongside Pieter Bulling, Aaron Gate, and Dylan Kennett, he came fourth in the men's team pursuit at the 2016 Rio Olympics, being beaten by Denmark to the bronze medal.
The 2017 Tour of Flanders was the 101st edition of the Tour of Flanders, a one-day cycling classic, that took place on 2 April 2017. It was the second monument race of the 2017 cycling season and the thirteenth event of the 2017 UCI World Tour. The race marked the pinnacle of the Flemish Cycling Week.
The 2019 UCI Europe Tour is the fifteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2019 season began on 31 January 2019 with the Trofeo Porreres, Felanitx, Ses Salines, Campos and will end on October 2019.
