Toyota Connected is a collaboration between Microsoft and Toyota, which was announced on April 4, 2016. The company will serve as the car maker's data science hub as it seeks to connect cars to people’s daily lives. Microsoft's Azure will be the cloud computing platform, providing a hybrid solution for everything Toyota Connected creates.

Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Toyota City, Aichi, Japan. In 2017, Toyota's corporate structure consisted of 364,445 employees worldwide and, as of September 2018, was the sixth-largest company in the world by revenue. As of 2017, Toyota is the world's second-largest automotive manufacturer. Toyota was the world's first automobile manufacturer to produce more than 10 million vehicles per year which it has done since 2012, when it also reported the production of its 200-millionth vehicle. As of July 2014, Toyota was the largest listed company in Japan by market capitalization and by revenue.

Microsoft has a 5% stake in the company that will run out of Plano, Texas, United States. CEO is by Zack Hicks, Toyota Motors America's CIO. [1] [2]

Plano is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, located approximately twenty miles north of downtown Dallas. The city of Plano is a part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Plano lies mostly within Collin County, but includes a small portion that extends into Denton County.

At the 2018 CES Toyota announced its first suite of products from Toyota Connected. The concept called e-Palette is designed to meet the demands of future multi-mode transportation and business applications. The e-Palette Alliance will leverage Toyota's proprietary Mobility Services Platform (MSPF) to develop a suite of connected mobility solutions and a flexible, purpose-built vehicle. It will also help in creating a broad-based ecosystem of hardware and software support designed to help a range of companies which can utilize advanced mobility technology. The company already has launch partners on board with the e-Palette and these include companies like Amazon, DiDi, Mazda, Pizza Hut and Uber, who will collaborate on vehicle planning, application concepts and vehicle verification activities.
