Tranebergs IF was a professional ice hockey team based in Traneberg, Sweden. Founded in 1912, the team played in within the Swedish Divisions 1 and 2 until 1975. The team, whose colours were navy blue, red and white, was a steady competitor in Sweden's highest league from the 1920s to the 1950s, and was a semi-finalist in 1935.

Bromma is a borough (stadsdelsområde) in the western part of Stockholm, Sweden, forming part of the Stockholm Municipality. Bromma is primarily made up of Bromma Parish and Västerled Parish. The fourth largest airport in Sweden and the third largest of the airports close to Stockholm, the Stockholm Bromma Airport, was first built in Bromma in 1936. The south-eastern part of Bromma is one of the richest areas in Stockholm.

IK Göta is a Swedish sports club, which was very successful in several sports such as track and field, handball, bowling, field hockey, ice hockey, soccer and bandy during the 20th century. Their most famous and successful sport was ice hockey. They won the Swedish ice hockey championship nine times, including the inaugural championship in 1922. The club was also operating bandy teams, both women's and men's, winning the Swedish men's championship in bandy once, in 1927. Tranebergs Idrottsplats was a football stadium in Traneberg district, western Stockholm, Sweden. It was opened in September 1911. Tranebergs Idrottsplats served as the home ground of Djurgårdens IF for 25 seasons. The stadium was closed in September 1936, followed up by demolition.
The 1946–47 Division 2 season was the second tier of ice hockey in Sweden for that season. 43 teams participated, divided into six groups of six and one group of seven. Group winners Gävle GIK, Leksands IF, IFK Bofors, Västerås SK, Tranebergs IF, Atlas Diesels IF, and Djurgårdens IF advanced to a promotion tournament which resulted in Gävle GIK, Västerås, Traneberg, and Atlas Diesel being promoted to Division 1 for the following season.
