Trollz is an American animated television series produced by the now-defunct DIC Entertainment Corporation and features the adventures of five teenage female trolls, who call themselves the Best Friends for Life, who use magic every day to help them with their everyday life as well as battling whatever magical creatures and issues they may find themselves up against. These trolls were based on the troll doll created in the 1960s.

Thomas Dam was a Danish woodworker and fisherman associated with Gjøl in Denmark. Dam designed and invented the original troll doll also known as the "Good Luck Troll". He created the toy during a period of financial distress, and carved it from wood. Soon, the family had started up a new business and Dam earned enough to buy himself a small factory where the dolls were produced in plastic. Dam created many different trolls as well as plastic baby dolls. Dam formed "Dam Things" to market the dolls. Dam trolls are now considered collectors' items. The Victoria and Albert Museum of London have one in their collection.

Trolls is a 2016 American computer-animated musical comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and based on the Good Luck Trolls dolls created by Thomas Dam. The film is directed by Mike Mitchell with a screenplay by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger from a story by Erica Rivinoja. The film features the voices of Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Zooey Deschanel, Christine Baranski, Russell Brand, James Corden, Jeffrey Tambor, John Cleese, and Gwen Stefani. The film follows two trolls who go on a quest to save their village from destruction by the Bergens, creatures who eat Trolls to be happy.

"Trollz" is a song by American rapper 6ix9ine and Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj. It was released as the second single from 6ix9ine's second studio album, TattleTales (2020). It was postponed twice before being released on June 12, 2020, as the follow-up to "Gooba", released four weeks earlier. It was written by the artists, along with its producers Sadpony and Jahnei Clarke, the latter having also produced "Gooba". The song marked the third collaboration between the artists, following "Fefe" and "Mama", both released in 2018. Lyrically, the song takes aim at internet trolls. On June 16, 2020, a new version of the song was released, featuring a different verse from Minaj and an altered beat. It became the first song to top the Hot 100 charts from an indie label since XXXTentacion's Sad! in 2018. "Trollz" set the record for the largest drop down the chart from number one in Hot 100 history at the time, becoming the first single to fall over 34 positions in its second week after a number one debut.
