Tsis is a municipality of Chuuk, in the Federated States of Micronesia.
Tsis Island is locate near the center of Truk Lagoon in Chuuk State (Truk) in the Federated States of Micronesia. Also known as Siis Island. The island has a hill on the southern portion with an elevation of 248'. To the north is Fefan Island, to the east is Uman Island, to the south is Aualap Pass South Pass (South Passage) and Faleu Island. To the northwest is Tarik Island and Param Island.
On the highest elevation of Tsis Island, the Imperial Japanese Army emplaced a single 75mm Type 41 Mountain Gun in an open emplacement. This gun was angled to the east to provide artillery support to gun positions on Fefan Island. Tarik Island beaches were mined with ninety-two Army small model land mines to prevent landings. Occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the Pacific War.

The Federated States of Micronesia, or simply Micronesia, is an island country in Oceania. It consists of four states – from west to east, Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosrae – that are spread across the western Pacific. Together, the states comprise around 607 islands that cover a longitudinal distance of almost 2,700 km (1,678 mi) just north of the equator. They lie northeast of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, south of Guam and the Marianas, west of Nauru and the Marshall Islands, east of Palau and the Philippines, about 2,900 km (1,802 mi) north of eastern Australia, 3,400 km (2,133 mi) southeast of Japan, and some 4,000 km (2,485 mi) southwest of the main islands of the Hawaiian Islands.

Chuuk Lagoon, previously Truk Atoll, is an atoll in the central Pacific. A protective reef, 225 km (140 mi) around, encloses a natural harbour 79 km × 50 km, with an area of 2,130 km2 (820 sq mi). It has a land area of 93.07 km2 (35.93 sq mi), with a population of 36,158 people and a maximal height of 443 m (1,453 ft). Weno city on Moen Island functions as the atoll's capital and also as the state capital and is the largest city in the FSM with its 13,700 people.

Tonowas , also known by its Spanish name of Dublon, is an island in the Chuuk lagoon, Federated States of Micronesia. It has an area of 8.8 km2 and the population was 3,200 at the time of the last census (1980). A narrow single-lane track rings the island, allowing land access to the small villages Five schools and Japanese military ruins, which include the remains of a seaplane anchorage and large fuel storage tanks. A Japanese administrative centre dating from the 1920-1930s mandate period can still be found, and is currently used as a government building.
Weriyeng is one of the last two schools of traditional navigation found in the central Caroline Islands in Micronesia, the other being Fanur. By tradition these two schools were considered to be the most high of all the schools of navigation that once dotted the islands of the central Carolines. By tradition the Weriyeng school was founded on the island of Pulap, which is today in the Pattiw region of Chuuk State, Federated States of Micronesia.

Heian Maru (平安丸) was a Japanese ocean liner launched in 1930 and operated primarily on the NYK line's trans-Pacific service between Yokohama and Seattle. Shortly before the outbreak of the Pacific War, it was requisitioned by the Imperial Japanese Navy and converted to use as an auxiliary submarine tender. In 1944 it was sunk by American aircraft at Chuuk Lagoon during Operation Hailstorm. Its submerged hulk – the largest of Chuuk's "Ghost Fleet" – remains a popular scuba diving destination.
