Ty'Anthony Smith is an American football linebacker for the Texas Longhorns.
Smith attended Jasper High School in Plano, Texas. Coming out of high school, he was rated as a four-star recruit, where he committed to play college football for the Texas A&M Aggies over offers from other schools such as Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, and USC. [1] However, Smith flipped his commitment on national singing day to play for the Texas Longhorns. [2]
In week 11 of the 2024 season, Smith recorded his first career interception in a win over Florida. [3] He finished the 2024 season, appearing in all 16 games, recording 16 tackles with one and a half being for a loss, half a sack, and an interception. [4] In week 12 of the 2025 season, Smith notched nine tackles with two going for a loss and a sack in a loss against Georgia. [5] In week 13, he was ejected in the first half on a targeting call versus Arkansas. [6] In the 2025 Citrus Bowl, Smith totaled nine tackles with one being for a loss and two interceptions in a victory against Michigan. [7]
