Tyler Reinnier Botha (born 3 December 1980) is a South African skeleton racer who competed from 2003 to 2006. He finished 21st in the men's skeleton event at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and was the flag bearer for the South African team in the closing ceremony.
He is also a member the St Moritz Tobogganing Club in St Moritz, also known as the Cresta Run. Tyler is currently the second fastest rider from Junction, the Cresta's lower starting point, with a time of 41.09, and the fifth fastest rider from Top, the starting point for the full 1.2 km track with 50.64 seconds. Tyler's most successful season on the Cresta was the 2010–11 season where he won 6 races including the Curzon Cup and Morgan Cup. He won his club colours in 2003.
Tyler is also a DJ, playing under the alias of T Minus. A Minimal and Techno purist, T-Minus is a DJ driven by creative and technological inspirations. Playing for over ten years, his style and sound has evolved from his early days playing Trance and Progressive house in Switzerland & the UK and has ushered in his firm interest for a sound that is more Minimal and Techno inspired.

The Cresta Run is a natural ice track in eastern-Switzerland used for skeleton-toboggan racing. Located in the winter sports town of St. Moritz, the 1.2125 km (0.753 mi) run is one of the few in the world dedicated entirely to skeleton. It was built in 1884 near the hamlet of Cresta in the municipality of Celerina/Schlarigna by the Outdoor Amusement Committee of the Kulm Hotel and the people of St. Moritz. It has continued as a partnership to this day between the St. Moritz Tobogganing Club (SMTC), founded in 1887, and the people of St. Moritz.

Kristan Bromley is a retired British skeleton racer who has competed since 1996. He won the gold medal in the men's event at the 2008 FIBT World Championships in Altenberg, Germany. This was Great Britain's first gold medal at the FIBT World Championships since 1965.

He is a six-time world champion in men's skeleton, a double Olympic silver winner, and the athlete with the most World Cup titles with a total of 11, having won eight consecutive titles between 2010 and 2017, plus another three consecutive titles between 2020 and 2022.
Urs Vescoli is a skeleton racer. He formerly competed for Switzerland, and subsequently for Australia. He did not compete in the 2006 Winter Olympics; fellow Australian Shaun Boyle did.
These are the results of the men's skeleton competition at the 1928 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz. At that time the sport was called cresta, and St. Moritz had the most famous Cresta Run, dating to 1884. In many locations the sport was referred to as tobogganing during these and the 1948 Games. The competition took place on the Cresta Run and medals were awarded after a total of three runs down the course.

Christopher Hedquist is an American skeleton racer. In 2004 he won the overall European Cup, becoming the first American ever to win the title. He won gold at the 2005 World University Games in Innsbruck, Austria, the inaugural event for skeleton at the Games. He was an alternate in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy and retired following the 2007 World Cup season.
The skeleton competition of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics was held at Whistler Sliding Centre. The events were held between the 18 and 19 February 2010. This event was expanded to four runs over two days beginning at these Olympic Games.

John Daly is an American skeleton racer who has competed since 2001. He has been on the World Cup podium many times, at such tracks as Winterberg, Calgary, and St. Moritz.
For the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland, a total of eight sports venues were used. The five venues used for the 1928 Winter Olympics were reused for these games. Three new venues were added for alpine skiing which had been added to the Winter Olympics program twelve years earlier in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. As of 2015, the bob run continues to be used for bobsleigh and the Cresta Run for skeleton while alpine skiing remains popular in St. Moritz.
