The Judo championships of UAAP Season 70 was contested from October 6 to October 7, 2007, at the Ateneo Blue Eagle Gym. There were three titles given, one for each division: Men's, Women's, Boys' (Juniors).

Contents

The Juniors division awarded its first formal championship trophy after being a demonstration sport the previous year (UAAP Season 69, 2006–07). Ateneo de Manila High School (AHS) Blue Eaglets won the championship that year.

The UST Tiger Judokas and the UP Lady Judokas were the defending champions in Men's and Women's divisions. Both had record-setting nine UAAP titles under their belts.

After the tournament, the UP Maroon & Lady Judokas won the double crown and set a league-leading 14 total titles. The AHS Blue Eaglets took the first UAAP title by winning the Junior's division.

Ateneo Blue Eagles Collegiate mens varsity teams of the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines

The Ateneo Blue Eagles are the collegiate varsity teams of the Ateneo de Manila University that play in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), the premiere collegiate league in the Philippines. The collegiate women's varsity basketball team is called the Lady Eagles. The Ateneo collegiate men's varsity basketball team was not always called the Blue Eagles. It got the name Blue Eagles when Ateneo adopted the Eagle as its mascot in 1938. Prior to that, from 1914 it was known under different names. Beginning with UAAP Season 84 in May 2022, Ateneo de Manila University officially decided to unify student athletes and varsity teams under the "Blue Eagles" moniker, regardless of sport, gender, or age group. Ateneo has fifteen collegiate men's varsity teams that participate in fifteen sporting events of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, its mother league. Twenty five years after playing their last game as Blue Eagles, the Board of Directors of the Ateneo Sports Hall of Fame review their playing years as Blue Eagles. Those who meet the criteria are inducted into the Ateneo Sports Hall of Fame.

De La Salle Green Archers Varsity teams representing De La Salle University

The De La Salle Green Archers are the men's varsity teams representing De La Salle University in the Philippines. The women's varsity teams are referred to as the De La Salle Lady Archers, De La Salle Lady Booters, and De La Salle Lady Spikers. The school's varsity teams participate in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, among others. La Salle is represented in the high school level by De La Salle Zobel, and are known as the Zobel Junior Archers.

UE Red Warriors Varsity teams

UE Red Warriors refer to the collegiate men's varsity teams of the University of the East. The women's collegiate varsity teams are called the UE Lady Warriors. The Athletic director of the University of the East is Rodrigo M. Roque.

UST Growling Tigers

The UST Growling Tigers are the college athletic teams representing the University of Santo Tomas in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. They hold the most UAAP Overall Championships with 44 Seniors' Overall Championships and 21 Juniors' Overall Championships.

UAAP Season 71 was the 2008–2009 season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. The University of the Philippines (UP) hosted this season, which coincided with the centennial anniversary of the University's establishment. It opened on July 5, 2008 with an elaborate ceremony held at the Araneta Coliseum.

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Judo Tournament was previously held during the second semester of the school year. Due to a conflict with volleyball television coverage, though, it was moved to the first semester. Judo was a demonstration sport in the Juniors Division in UAAP Season 69, 70, and 71, and is not included in the official count of total titles.

Jose Antonio Gonzales Reyes is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). He previously played for the Ateneo de Manila University where he spent his elementary, high school, and college years.

UAAP Season 74 was the 2011–2012 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. It was hosted by Ateneo de Manila University. The men's basketball and the women's volleyball tournaments were aired by ABS-CBN Channel 2 and Studio 23 for the twelfth consecutive year. The opening ceremony was held on July 9, 2011 at the Marikina Sports Center.

There were eight universities that competed in fifteen sports with poomsae, a form in the sport of taekwondo now recognized as a regular sport and included in the general championship tally.
